Great value - looks lovely
Originally I gave this product four out of five stars because the pouring was so messy but then I discovered I wasn’t using this cafetiere properly. The ‘press’ part has a little dip which needs to be lined up by the spout for perfect pouring and easy pushing down. This item is absolutely lovely. It’s very elegant and sleek and great price. It arrived the very next day and I’ve used every day since.

Feels like it will last a lifetime
Very solid. Holds heat well. Tiny niggle is that some indication of when the pouring hole is liner up would have been good...but really this is a very good cafetiere. I had bee making my coffee in an Aeropress at the recommended 80oC. Because of the weight of this cafetiere I thing it initially takes some heat out of the water - so I get a better result using 90oC water to compensate (btw, if messing around with temperatures sounds like a faff, take a look at some of the temperature controlled kettles)

Love it!
After smashing yet another glass cafetiere, I went onto Amazon to replace it. In the past I've always bought Boden ones but this time I just got tired of constantly replacing glass ones. You see, I'm clumsy and occasionally I'd knock the cafetiere over and/or knock it against something and the glass would smash. I bought one from Procook last year which lasted a few weeks before the glass on that shattered as I pushed the plunger down.So I thought enough was enough. I decided to look at a stainless steel one. The Topelek seemed to have good reviews but I am quite wary nowadays about review authenticity.I'm pleased to say that I absolutely LOVE this coffee maker. The construction is superb, very well constructed. Comes with additional meshes so will last for a long time as the original becomes worn. The spoons seem a bit of a waste but other than environmental issues, it's not a big deal.Being made out of stainless steel, it’s really easy to clean. The main thing is that this cafetiere seems to be built to last. I reckon I could drop this and it would survive no bother. No more worrying if I accidentally knock it over in the sink, or against something else. No more glass to crack. My only minor gripe is that of course being stainless steel, I cannot see how much coffee I am putting in now. So perhaps in future, rather than some random spoons, it'd be better to have a small measuring cup so i can see how much coffee I am putting into the coffee maker?Overall superb and definitely worth the money!

Well worth the extra few quid!
Sometimes you but and item and can just feel the quality. This is a lovely cafetiere - it looks smart, cleans easily, is far harder to break than the glass ones and comes with spoons and spare filter gauses. A bit more expensive than glass, but as the philosopher said, 'if you buy cheap, you buy twice'.At one litre it's supposedly good to make eight cups, but in my case it's just the right amount to do me for my breakfast. Perhaps I should cut down...

Finally... the perfect cafetiere.
LOVE this. My wife and I have some weird disorder where we keep breaking glass cafetieres. Now we can enter our kitchen confident that those days are over! Terrific coffee maker, stury, robust, dishwasher and clumsy idiots friendly. We find if you warm the pot with boiling water first as you would a tea pot, the coffee stays hot for ages, not thermos ages, but long enough to fancy another cup an hour later and still find it warm enough to drink. Thorough recommend and it will be with you for years.

Style over substance
Bought this just over a year ago so I’ve used it a few times. We’re not big coffee drinkers so it’s not in constant use but on two occasions now the screw that holds the mesh filter at the bottom of the plunger has come loose and when plunged has just meant the whole plunger collapses and doesn’t filter with coffee granules in your coffee. Worse still, on one occasion the hot coffee went all over me and one of my guests. Now I have to remember to tighten the screw before using. Not well designed/made.

High quality 100% stainless steel.
This is a really really great French press. I had a glass one that was too small to get a second cup from, so I upgraded to this. It's of really, really excellent quality. Its body and lid are double walled polished stainless steel. I was expecting the lid to be plastic with a chrome effect finish, but it's not, it's polished stainless steel too. Even the knob on the top of the plunger is also steel. The plunger / filter assembly seal better than most, meaning that no grounds pass into the filtered liquid In other words, this feels like a catering grade French press rather than a domestic one. Because of all the metal, you should preheat the unit with boiling water so that it does not draw heat from the coffee. If you do this, the coffee will stay hotter for a lot longer than a glass version because of the double walls. Also be sure to rotate the lid to closed and push it towards the spout to seal the heat in, when not pouring. The spout pours very cleanly in a perfect steam. Also the size is ideal for 1 to 3 people or so. The extra filter disks are the cream on top. I suspect this will turn out to be one of those star purchases that stands the test of time. Can't recommend this highly enough.

It's the biz
This is a nice press! Shiny and well manufactured. Inside has fill lines for exact measurement of 500ml or 200ml which is a good. Feels heavy even without liquid so if you have weak wrists don't buy. Double wall construction to keep coffee hot for longer. I think this is good value and will last well. The filters are like my Bodum one and interchangable. Like the extra serving spoon and jam spoons and two extra filters. Very happy with it
