This bright and cheerful Handwriting Practice Book from CGP is a fantastic way for Year 1 pupils (ages 5-6) to practise forming letters and writing words neatly . It starts off with lines and patterns to trace before moving onto letters. Each letter is introduced with helpful arrows to show how it’s formed. Pupils are then given letters to trace and space to write them independently as well, with guidelines to keep letters the same size and dots to show where to start each letter. They’re also given whole words and sentences to trace and copy. This book includes capital letters and numbers too, and a page of helpful handwriting tips. Review: Excellent Handwriting Practice for Year 1! - I bought the KS1 English Year 1 Handwriting Targeted Practice to help my child improve their writing skills at home, and it’s been fantastic. The exercises are clear, well-structured, and gradually build confidence, making handwriting practice manageable and enjoyable. My child enjoys completing the pages, and I’ve already noticed improvement in neatness and consistency. The layout is bright and engaging, which really helps maintain their interest. A great resource for parents looking to give their child extra support with handwriting. Highly recommend! Review: great work - great book, my daughter loves working on it

Excellent support for handwriting and letter formation
This book is fantastic for children who are in the process of improving their handwriting. It really helps with letter formation, developing a consistent letter size, and learning how to leave the right amount of space between letters and words. It’s very clear, well structured and easy for children to follow, without feeling overwhelming. My child enjoys using it, and it works extremely well as a complement to other learning activities such as maths books, reading practice and phonics programmes (like Little Wandle). I highly recommend it as a practical, effective and confidence-boosting resource.

Fantastic for teaching handwriting! ✏️
This is a fantastic book for teaching handwriting! I find it has really helped with pencil placement as the red dot and arrows help children remember how to correctly form letters to the correct size. This has been used with children 4-7. Normally, handwriting sheets don’t have a dot where children need to start from, so this helps a lot. Each page goes through similar looking letters such as ‘ I, L, T’ and then at the bottom, it has a word from the Year 1 or 2 common exception words to trace and then write independently using the letters learned. This book helps with spellings too and provides great, scaffolded support for KS1. I hope this helps you decide, but as a teacher, CGP books are a go to!

Help fill the knowledge gaps
These books are fantastic for filling in your child's knowledge gaps. Especially if you have a SEND's child, or they just need abit longer to take it all in. Use pencil for all the stages. Then they can used again, if you have other children.

Excellent and Fun
If your child is like mine and does not like writing because it hurts their hand, then this is a great book for them to practice with. The exercises promote hand-eye coordination to help with dexterity when moving the pencil on the page, and it starts with scribbles and shapes rather than letters, so they can ease into the drawing aspect of writing. Great purchase!

Les enseña a escribir las letras con punto y flecha y es muy fácil.
Me ha gustado mucho porque usa el Tipo de letra que utilizan en el Colegio inglés y no letra ligada.
