Cadac Carri Chef 2 BBQ and Chef Pan Combo

We have used the smaller version of the Cadac (Safari Chef) in our motorhome for some 4 years now and think it's an excellent gas BBQ.I have the Outback Spectrum Hooded 3 Burner Gas BBQ which I find is just awful; I have reviewed this on Amazon. Wondering what to get to replace it and not needing a large BBQ (we have cooked for 4 before on the Safari Chef) it came down to the Char-Broil Kettleman or the Cadac Carri Chef 2. Given that we are so impressed with the Safari Chef we decided to go with the Cadac Carri Chef 2.Excellent decision. It's easy to assemble, the cooking area is enormous (well, compared to the Safari Chef) and cooks food just beautifully. I don't miss the briquettes from the Outback (or should I say all the flare ups) and the Cadac, with their highly effective Teflon coating (still perfect on the 4-year old Safari Chef), is so easy to clean.It is designed to be taken apart and be portable and is supplied with carry bags but we will just leave it set up. I did also buy the 'Cadac Gas connector with quick release' so that I don't have to fiddle with screwing the connector on each time I connect the gas bottle, well worth it.

This is a well made and designed BBQ. It does as it say easy to clean, take apart and pack in the bag. The only down side is no bag for the legs, although you can purchase one.

After my old Charcoal BBQ at home bit the dust, I was after another. I had been tempted by the dark-side (Gas) for a while. Couldn't justify the investment for home use only, but then saw the Cadac Chef2. 2 Birds, 1 stone. Ideal for home use, and camping.At home, no issues, works great.For camping, It is definitely one for "car-camping". It is bulky, though fits nicely into the included bag (and I highly recommend the separately available leg bag, there is space to slot them on the main bag, but it is awkward, a separate bag is much easier) If you are going for a longer period or a big group it is ideal. I attached the photo to show the kind of quantities that can be cooked in it.It's at a great height for cooking too.The Chef pan (shown in photo) is fantastic. After cooking breakfast, all it needs is a wipe with some kitchen roll.The BBQ is a little tougher to clean.All in all highly recommended.

I have always wanted one of these but could not justify the price. Finally I bit the bullet and was not disappointed. I have used a George Foreman outdoor/indoor electric grill for years and the Cadac Chef 2 is very similar but gas powered.The piezo ignition actually works (not my experience with previous bbq's). Cooking is nicely controlled since effectively it is just a hotplate. The excess fat falls through slits in the bbq plate onto a fat tray. The cooking and fat trays are removable when cool and easily cleaned.I now have a huge hot plate so cooking for all the family including the grandkids is so much easier. No burning fat and blackened sausages, cheating really.Additional comment after one year. Still love the product but I bought a carry bag for it which allows must of it to be packed away and zipped closed. These are available from specialist bag makers like [...]at a very reasonable cost.

Excellent product. Made cooking a pleasure (and all very easy to clean)Only negative is the size of the pot stand which does not work with smaller pots or kettles.

The media could not be loaded. I have had Cadac for a good many years and have learned all there little tricks and ways over that time , some say "oh it's just a gas ring " no it's more than that it is a complete cooking system well thought out and cooks to perfection whether is humble burgers or sausages or tasty kebabs or a whole spatchcock tandoori chicken, leg of lamb or joint of pork (with crackling) add a few wood chips to the burner pan or grind coarse black pepper onto the burner and get wonderful aromatic smokeyness to your cooking. Cook perfect home made pitzas or pancakes the list can go on, not enough room here but only your imagination is your limiting factor but the crowning glory is the one pan full English breakfast on the Skottle pan. Everything goes on and has its place to ensure perfect outdoor breakfast everytime. On one pan yo can cook in one go bacon, sausage, mushrooms, grilled tomato, black pudding, hash browns, and all the cooking flats run into the middle making it healthy......if you want, or.....you then crack your eggs into that at the end for the best fried eggs ever. And if you open the tin of beans antake the label off and plant it in the center at the very start it will even hot the beans through by the end of cooking ready for the plate up, and if you put slices of bread on the hot skottle on full while plating up it makes delightful crunchy flavoured toast to go with it. Eaten out doors on a sunny morning you will drive everyone wild with the aroma of cooking outdoors. I have one at my caravan used all the time (weather permitting) and one at home on the patio, this one is the oldest and has seen some service but it was time for the old girl to retire so sadly said good bye to a very good friend, but as I have said before this is one of those items " that if it ever broke I would have to get another one tomorrow " and I did exactly that, the pictures only show a small selection of what is possible. If possible I would give it 10 ✴️

We use this bbq regularly when camping in our van - we run it off of the van LPG & it is *fantastic*It cooks well, is versatile & I can comfortably feed a family of four loads of different with the 2 pans included - in particular it does a mean fry up!!Packing it the first time is a bit of a brain teaser but there’s a simple YouTube video which makes it all clear. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this product.
