Practical Electronics for Inventors, Fourth Edition

This is a heavy weight book. It weighs 2.07kg and has 1027pages (including the index) It was larger than I was expecting.It is a very comprehensive book about electronics. For a budding electronics engineer, it will be excellent. It is very thorough. Being thorough necessitates a lot of mathematical theory. The book assumes knowledge of elementary calculus (differentiation and integration), trigonometry and radians. You will struggle if you aren't familar. Complex numbers are described. It would be advantageous to have prior experience of complex numbers. Being an electronics book, it uses j instead of i. A passing reference to matrices is present.Another review commented there was no colour. Colour would be nice but it would have the book more expensive. Personally, I consider excellent value for money, very thorough and would contribute to excellent designs.

I really like this book and it looks exactly what I wanted to go deeper after quite a lot of introductory materials from places like YouTube. It’s a good roadmap for learning but really be prepared to dive off into other resources to explain some of the concepts especially for the maths.

Really first class book on electronics. Has all the information you could ever need as a hobyist or student. Wish I had bought this book years ago, so informative. It is a heavy book and will take shelf space!

Bought this book because I was heading into an Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree, it's been serving as a very handy accompaniment thus far. The basic theory chapter at the start of the book is very comprehensive and the later, more application-focused chapters serve as a patient introduction to the various aspects of electronics that doesn't presumptuously hurtle off into advanced concepts in the same way 'The Art Of Electronics' does.The writing is very clear and concise, in general it has a very no-nonsense, plain-English approach to explaining things that doesn't require a lot of tangential thought experiments like some other books, but still detailed enough to give you a very robust understanding of the subject matter.I will say that it is a purely Electronics focused book, don't expect much coverage on the theory behind electrical machines like motors and generators, or power electronics. So while this has been a big help so far, and it will probably be all the information a home tinkerer will need, it's not a one-stop solution for a EEE student.

It’s over 1000 pages and a large book. It contains some cartoon style images to give us a little break from the impressive detail of the content. Starts at the beginning with ‘what is electricity’ moves on through an in-depth teaching of everything you need to get a good understanding of the subject. Now, I’m going to point out that this is electronics, so expect a lot of maths - if you don’t have good maths skills, then this subject (and this book) may not be for you - you’ll see some formula which will scare you - but the book does an effective job of trying to get you to understand it. The best electronics book I have (and I have a few). Loses one star for me for being all black and white - sorry, but I like a bit of colour in my books, and when you’re having to describe colours to get across resistor values, then it’s a bit of a chore. However, in every other respect- it’s great. Covers SMD’s in case anyone is interested.

This book is insane! I need to have a proper look through it but I can say so far its unbelievable... the amount of knowlege in this book is second to none! This book would be perfect for anyone in any electronics field as it covers so much from basic components to schematics and how to design your own boards for your very own designs/projects,I also really like all the equations as I feel like im studying theorethical physics or something along those lines.... I'm about as far from sheldon cooper as can be but its nice to imagine 😂

Trouvé par hasard sur libgen, le pdf m'a donné envie de l'acheter et à raison : cet ouvrage est excellent !Le livre est parfait pour apprendre les bases, ou apprendre des notions plus complexes.Je m'en sers personnellement pour des travaux en R&D.J'aurais apprécié une couverture rigide ceci dit, mais pour 40€ je ne m'attendais pas à une qualité incroyable. Pourtant, le papier et l'impression sont d'excellente qualité.

If you are new in electronics world, It has everything you need to know for electronics. Suffice to say if you want to learn electronics from basics, this is very good option. Posting some photos of index for relevant one.

Das Buch bietet sehr viele und detaillreiche Informationen, die mit zahlreichen Abbildungen, Zeichnungen und Tabellen ergänzt werden. Das hat mir gut gefallen.Zudem bietet es einen ausführlichen Theorieteil an, der aber für die praktische Arbeit mit den aufgezeigten Bauteilen und Schaltungen nicht unbedingt vorher gelesen werden muss. Mir hat der Theorieteil richtig gut gefallen. Er ist sehr ausführlich und verständlich geschrieben zumindest wenn man Mathekenntnisse aus der Analysis hat.Er erläutert viele Formeln und mathematische Zusammenhänge und zeigt die Berechnungsgrundlagen für Schaltungen mit Gleichspannung und auch mit harmonischen Schwingungen auf. Diese werden nicht einfach nur aufgereiht, sondern didaktisch sinnvoll von einfach nach schwer weitgehend erläutert und z.T. begründet. Zwar fehlen ausführliche mathematische Herleitungen aber mit dem Aufbau des Buches konnte ich sie weitgehend selber herleiten. Zudem werden die Gleichungen/Formeln mit Beispielen und Übungsaufgaben inklusive Lösungen veranschaulicht. Im Theorieteil werden auch die kompexen Zahlen eingeführt und deren Vorteile bei der Berechnung von harmonischen Schwingungen gut erläutert. Der Theorieteil gipfelt schließlich in der Schaltungserweiterung auf nicht harmonische Schwingungen mittels Fouriertransformation.Von den ca. 1000 (!) Seiten des Buches nimmt der Theorieteil ein Viertel (also etwa 250 Seiten) ein und konnte damit auch entsprechend ausführlich sein. Die relevanten Gleichungen kommen dann alle auch im praktischen Teil (Rest des Buches) vor, werden da aber nicht mehr näher begründet.Alles in allem ein hervorragendes Buch, dass zudem noch für seinen Umfang (1000 Seiten geballter Information) sehr günstig ist. Gerne hätte ich es in gebundener Form (mit entsprechendem Aufpreis) erworben, was aber nicht angeboten wird. Dennoch scheint auch die vorliegende Bindung recht robust zu sein. Ich hatte es im Urlaub mit und häufig transportiert. Die Bindung hat sowohl das intensive Lesen als auch die Transporte problemlos überstanden.Ich kann es jedem Elektronik-Interessierten, der sich nicht vor der englischen Sprache fürchtet, empfehlen.

Apenas he comenzado a leerlo, pero me ha parecido muy claro en sus explicaciones; es fácil su comprensión. Tiene una cobertura buena cobertura de los temas relacionados con electrónica.

If it's not covered in this book, then it's probably not worth knowing! This will become your Bible for all matters electrical/electronic. It's big, it's heavy and I love every page of it!
