Provides good information that you can't find online
Handling my father's estate where he had vacation real estate in upstate NY that is going to 3 family members and ended up going through probate. Wanted to look at all the various options and while there is a lot of information online plus you need to discuss with your family attorney and as in my case also the attorney in NY that is handling the probate transfer since I do not live in NY. This book did help and provided good information on all the different options and helped me make my decision on how this property will be held. Got the Kindle version which was easy to read on my tablet plus had a digital credit so worth the purchase.

LLCs are all examined in a way that makes reading about your vacation home easy, but still seriously pertinent
Family conflicts have derailed many an idyllic vacation and recreational property. Hollander writes a very readable treatise explaining why you can't just own the family cottage with your siblings without guidelines for conduct, scheduling, and a host of other banal yet vital and potentially catastrophic considerations that many families ignore at their peril. Tenants in Common, Trusts, LLCs are all examined in a way that makes reading about your vacation home easy, but still seriously pertinent.

Fortunately, after reading this book I understand what to ...
As executrix and trustee of my father's estate, I wished he had read this book when he purchased our family vacation home. It provides a solution for not only keeping property in he family but ensuring peace in the family. Title to our vacation home is now held solely in my name and as this book emphasizes, an LLC would have prevented conflict with my siblings. Fortunately, after reading this book I understand what to do going forward. I highly recommend this book to the entire family.

Valuable!
This is the definitive book on how to set up the structure to preserve your family cabin to future generations. Many of our neighbors have bought this book. Most have converted their property to an LLC. We are in the process of doing so. Well done. An adjacent book to manage the use of the property would be "Cottage Rules" to go with this.

How do I handle the situation
The book addresses options for the owners to handle their property. The owners have an idea however the children are not viewing the property in the same light as the owner. The solution is not easy but the book presents some alternative ways to think about the property, children and grandchildren. Very good book to stimulate the thinking process.
