OXO Good Grips Shower Stall Drain Protector, White/Black, 12 x 12 x 0.1 cm

This works really well for catching hair and keeping it from blocking the shower trap. It's a great match for the size of my (standard?) shower drain and stays in place. Hair accumulates in the middle and is fairly easy to clean off. Build quality is excellent, very solid with a robust rubber surround.Flow is not as good as the uncovered drain, although much better than the uncovered drain filled with hair. I'd like one of these that pushed the holes a little closer together to allow more flow and less metal.

Perfect for stopping hair going down the shower drain. Hair stays on top and is easy to clear away so no more having to take apart drain and clear out blockages. No just need to persuade household members to remove their hair after their showers and all will be perfect. Highly recommended.

EDIT (DOWNGRADE TO 4 STARS): After two months usage whilst showering it's become apparent that the drain guard does indeed stay down while using but I've noticed that's only because the guard slows down the amount of water that can fit down the drain, so your bathtub fills with an inch or two of water around the drain, this weight from the water keeps the drain cover in place. That's fine and it still works very well. However contrary to my original review, it's become apparent there is no actual "suction" from the device. It does not "stick" to the bath. It only stays in place due to the water weight on top. All it takes is one gentle kick or touch, and it will move. It is still a good product, but keep your eye on the cover, as it can move about very easily if you stand over the drain when showering!I have knocked off 1 star in the rating due to the cost, combined with the fact that it is flimsier to stay in place than previous thought.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I decided to buy this drain protector over cheaper ones due to the good reviews, and I'm sick of the gross task of clearing hair out a drain!I bought the bath one. My set-up is to shower whilst standing in a bath tub.After using it a few times now, and being someone who sheds an awful lot of hair - I have to say it does it's job perfectly.It fits the bathtub drain very well, and as advertised catches all the hair during a shower. The suction on it is very good, in fact, I am impressed that it still stays down, tightly sealed even when the bathtub has filled up with a few inches of water.I have checked under the cover to see how effective it's been - and it's caught every hair so far, not a single one escaped down the drain - Despite the protector being covered in hair.It is a small, simple product and so I do believe it's slightly expensive for what it is.

When washing my hair trying to stop stray hairs from going into the plug hole can be a pain, this is such a simple solution but it works really well, it’s sturdy and the rubber edging means it sits perfectly in the plug hole to collect any hairs which can then be simply wiped away to keep the plug hole and drain nice and hair free. It’s simple and it works.

Used for a long time. No signs of wear. Great product.

Wasn't sure if this would work but it does the job really well. There is no suction but it is slightly weighted which holds it in place. The hairs just wrap round the outside of it, even short hairs. Really didn't want to fork out for more expensive options which involve replacing plug so was pleasantly surprised with this.

So my shower is at the opposite end of the drainage, and I think that's something relevant. Because maybe that's why the water and soap don't go through easily.Yes, it looks amazing and it feels like good quality, and yes it keeps all the hair from going through. But yes, it also keeps the soap floating in the tub and the water takes ages to go. So in the end, I need to take it off and let everything go through (with some hairs, unfortunately).But I guess if you have the shower head right above it, there shouldn't be any problem? As the pressure of the water will help the flow.

Very good and easy to clean!

Very easy to place over my drain, stays put well and catches all of my hair. Easy to clean. The only minor drawback would be that it slightly slows the drainage of the water, but not a big deal.

Remodeled my master bath and the 'hair catcher' that came with new shower drain was a joke. Had huge holes in it and definitely would not function well to catch hair at all. So got one of these and inserted it into the drain structure. Has a frame to insert tile to match flooring and then under that is the drain. Layered it between those two areas. Easy to clean out and definitely catches my hair. Does not rust. I have very long hair so just a few hairs creates quite a clump. Important to keep it out of the wastewater system and I don't like having to pay for roto rooter type of services due to hair clogging issues. Highly recommend this very simple piece that works perfectly.

Precisava de um protetor de ralo que ficasse por cima do ralo tipo grelha e achei essa opção da Oxo. O preço é salgado (assim como todos os produtos desta marca), mas funciona super bem! É só colocar em cima da grelha que ele segura os fios de cabelo. Não sai do lugar pois a borda é emborrachada. Só achei que chegou um pouco arranhado, a embalagem poderia incluir um saquinho individual para que os demais produtos do pedido não arranhassem o protetor. Super indico!

Muito bom e o tamanho serviu certinho no ralo da banheira.
