Pasos 1 Spanish Beginner's Course (Fourth Edition): Coursebook

Great value for money !!!

I must say there are better books to learn Spanish. The workbook is chaotic, doesn't explain much at first. gives just half of information and the other half you need to find in next pages.

Just what I was looking for and good service

I took one star away because like many customers, I didn't realise I was only buying the textbook...although the low price says it all. I bought the online CD and DVD pack through the editors to discover that Amazon sells the course pack for a much lower price. All in all, I spent £14 more. I am keeping it all as the books seem well organised.

I use this book for a class of elderly students so I feel that the English incorporated into the book makes it a lot less daunting for them. It’s obviously not as good as Aula Internacional for a group of young professionals, but for my class it works because they feel more confident working with it. I wouldn’t recommend it for individual learners though. Most of my grammar instruction is done with my own activities, then they refer to the book to refresh their memory. I also don’t follow entirely the order given in the book so I do think it can work, but definitely with a teacher.

This is an accessible book for the beginner to use. It covers many everyday situations and equips the beginner to have the ability to converse in basic Spanish.
