Hessian Square Liners for Plant Baskets

Liners are a good size and good quality for money, they do not break up like some of the cheap hessian would purchase from this company again.

Easily enough for four small pond plants

These hessian sheets are expensive but I did not want to risk using old sacking that might have absorbed toxic chemical residues from whatever the sacks had previously contained. They are important to help stop the compost escaping from the baskets, which would turn the pond water cloudy. They can be easily formed around the inside of the basket and they expand to the full size of the basket as you add the compost. For the containers I was using I did find I needed one sheet that covered the two long sides and the base and then a second sheet which I cut into three strips and used two of these to wrap around the two shorter sides. Once the basket is planted you can trim off any excess hessian above the level of the basket so it all looks neat and tidy when lowered in to the pond.

I used this to line some pond plant baskets to retain the soil. It has worked very well and I have plenty left for further planting.

La trame de la toile est trop large, la terre passera au travers. Peut-être vais-je la doubler pour installer mes plantes, je ne sais pas encore comment je vais m'y prendre...
