Smell from the past, works wonders
Opening the tin is worth 960x the original price just for the pure nostalgia of the smell!. BTW, you should NOT inhale the vapours, they bad for you - read the instructions and safetly information. The stuff does work wonders though, just as it always did. Nothing polishes Brass like it. Remember to let it dry then buff the item with a soft dry cloth. It's not easy to use. If you value your hands, I advise using some disposable vinyl gloves, remove the whole wad from the tin, separate a sheet, tear some off it, re-roll and put back in the tine. Make sure the lid is on tight. The old rhyme used to go "Shine your buttons in Brasso, only 3 halfpence a tin". That 0.625p in new money. Now it's 6 quid a tin, but still worth it :)

Fantastic product. Cleaned my stained stainless steel splash back ...
Exactly the same as when I was a kid! Fantastic product. Cleaned my stained stainless steel splash back on my cooker. I have to tell you that I tried many products before coming to Brasso. They all stained my splash back. With only a little bit of elbow grease (real product) cleaned up perfectly. Now shiny and new looking again. Try on the bike wheels, they come up beautifully, you will try it on everything as it is so good. Simple but fantastic product. Old style always the best.

Great cleaner, the best out there!
Bought as my mum always used it when I was growing up. I didn’t realise you have to tear off the wadding but once my naive mind figured that out, it worked amazingly well! I’ve been going a bit overboard polishing everything in the house. The smell is quite strong but it’s worth it for a sparklingly polished house!

Easy to use, with a consistent result.
Used for generations, this is a tried and trusted way to clean metals like brass and copper. Having the wadding included means there's no hunting for a method of application, you just need a soft cloth for the final removal and polish.Brasso is easy to use, with a consistent result.

Better for light tarnish and regular maintenance
I bought this to clean up a heavily tarnished brass door knocker and letterbox. Whilst the product worked fine, once it picks up the tarnish it becomes much less effective - so I used up the whole tin but could not quite complete the job. I realised that this product was probably better cleaning up light tarnish, so have ordered the traditional liquid version to complete the job.

Take the wadding and rub it straight onto the object to be polished in a circular fashion. Now don't try and polish it using the wadding it's not designed to do that. The idea is to get the object saturated with the impregnated solution. Then after a couple of minutes buff it off with a dry cloth. It's a lot less messy than using the Brasso liquid polish."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Will this work on the front door window of my house?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"This is not a product for windows/glass.
