It's all about the image, and this did the trick.
My son wanted one of these to go with his prom outfit - his school had a rule of no canes, however, he was given an exception because he had ACL surgery just months before prom. This is the one he wanted, and he thought he was Don Juan all night. All of his friends wanted to take pictures with it. Who would have thought, a cane, of all things. Teenagers.

Nice Cane
It's a decent cane, though you do have to put it together (I don't have a problem with this), but that's easy: the wood is sturdy and it holds up well. The rubber tip at the bottom does wear down quickly however, so I advise getting a tip cover (you can get 4 for under $5) which is why I docked it a star. I would do this when buying the cane and before using it or you could risk a fall in the first day if use. Other than that, it's a beautiful cane and functions as it's supposed to when used correctly.

Attractive, Effective, and Inexpensive
When I slipped on wet asphalt and fractured my hip on the concrete curbing, I had to have hip replacement surgery last year. I bought this and it has served me well. It's not expensive, and while I no longer require a cane, I still use it in inclement weather. Also, I have had more compliments on how attractive it is. When I had my check up with the surgeon, the PA who saw me first said "It's obviously a fashion statement for you since you don't actually need it anymore."

NOT all in one single wood shaft
Bought this cane/walking stick while I recovered from recent hip replacement surgery. One of the photos in the listing shows the shaft of the cane looking like it is all one piece with the brass head fitting and the brass and rubber tip. NOT how this cane was delivered. In fact it comes in three pieces with brass connectors at the ends of each piece so they go together with a flat brass disk separating each of the wood sections. Not a huge deal functionally, but it certainly does not look as nice as one single piece shaft as pictured. Brass head is very artfully scrolled, but when you look at it up close it is pretty cheaply made. And mine had a bad spot in the brass finish about the size of a dime that showed that the underlying metal was some base pot metal of some sort, with the brass lacquered on over top. The scrollwork also hurt the palm of my hand somewhat whenever I put weight on the cane while trying to take weight off my painful hip. The rubber tip is also small, about 0.5" diameter and the same length, held on by a screw in a center depression in the rubber tip. Due to its small size, after only a handful of uses the screw started to hit the ground when any weight was put on it. But it worked for its intended purpose for the 2-3 weeks that I needed it. But I would not order it again. I think there are better alternatives in the same price range. I would probably go for one of the round somewhat flattened and smooth head canes instead.

Very stylish
I really like this cane. The only issue I could claim is I think the threaded rods for connecting the sections and handle should have some form of thread locker. For me that's a minor problem, I already have some of that on hand. But you should use this when assembling the parts as they will loosen over time without it. That being said I would recommend the cane.

this is not one solid wooden cane as shown
i bought this cane because in its pictures it shows its a solid one piece shaft but instead i got one that comes apart in 3 pieces. update. after not even a full 24 hours of owning this cane the foot is gone and the MACHINE threads holding the handle in the wooden shaft pulled free and i FELL DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP JUNK only thing it did was injure me more
