Genius - crystal clear sound, unobtrusive, and ever ready
I must admit I was a bit sceptical about this, but it hasn't disappointed at all! I have the Firefly permanently plugged into my car 12v charger point, with the aux cable running unobtrusively down the back and it looks great. When i turn on the ignition, it flashes showing it is ready to pair, and when it pairs the solid light shows it is connected and working. It is simple and minimal in its design, which makes it so powerful - please don't be put off by complaints about not having control of audio etc, it really isn't an issue - I use it every day, and I use the term 'set it and forget it' far too much in reviews, but this is exactly what the Firefly is - plug it in, then forget it is there. Like other reviewers I wanted something I did not have to constantly charge or fiddle with and this fits the bill. There are a couple of negatives, neither of which are attributed in any way to the receiver itself. Firstly, the pairing of the aux socket and USB socket in the Hyundai i10 (which I drive) would suggest that this would be the perfect place for its installation (see all the photos in the supporting descriptions); however, when I plug anything into my USB drive it tries to 'read' the USB, and then fails, so disconnecting the USB and rendering the device inoperative. I haven't found a way to change this, so for now my Firefly is plugged into a multiplug on the 12v charger point, which is acceptable but a bit annoying. Secondly, there are (occasionally) connection issues, but I actually mostly attribute these to my tablet (which I play music from, and is a pain in the a**e anyway) and not the receiver. I believe the receiver to be a 'passive' item - i.e. provided it has power it is set up and ready, it has no ability to disconnect itself. Tablets or phones, on the other hand, disconnect from Bluetooth for a myriad of reasons, sometimes unfathomable. I would say 'lost connection' is perhaps a few times in a week, and usually righted fairly quickly. I can drive for hours and not have any connection issues (e.g. drove 6 hours and never a hiccup). I would look carefully at any device first for problems. My only other comment, and this is me being a bit picky, is that the build quality is a bit plastic for such a premium price, but as I don't spend a lot of time handling it, it really doesn't matter.I struggled for years with dodgy aux cables which would break, and the sound quality was never great. Sound quality off the Firefly is crystal clear. I can't recommend it enough.

Amazing sound quality, very simple to use
Having used similar devices in the past, I was skeptical about possibly of interference noise. Reviews seemed to suggest otherwise, so I decided to try it. I can say that overall I am extremely impressed. The sound quality is very clean, no noticeable interference, and suitably loud. The audio quality remains clear and clean, even at very high volume - especially useful for podcasts which generally tend to need the volume louder. The instructions suggest you download the Tunai app, but I didn't need to use this. I plugged straight into my Fiesta's USB and Audio jack sockets, connected to my phone and everything worked right out of the box. Every time I get in the car, the phone connects automatically before I've even started the engine.I have been using most days for over a month now and have noticed no degradation of audio quality, and have experienced no Bluetooth connection drop outs - so very impressed here too.I have only one criticism. I decided to go with the standard Firefly model, rather than the Firefly Chat, as I didn't fancy using the integrated mic for handsfree calls, due to positioning of the USB socket. Unfortunately, call audio doesn't come through the Bluetooth connection with the standard model, meaning I'm limited to loudspeaker. Otherwise, I can't fault it.

Very good, great sound quality, easily connects, get it.
*Read whole review*This is really good, no more plugging aux cables into your phone every time, it really does everything it says.Very clear sound quality, I've not heard any hissing or background noise. I've got in plugged in under my armrest in my e90 '11 BMW 325d.Only minor complaint is volume is a lot lower compared to radio, so if you go from your car radio to this then it will be barely heard, it's not really a problem just turn the volume up, it's still capable of being way too loud so no problem. Only issue is of you go from this back to radio, then it's very loud! That really is a minor complaint though. Now for the more major problems, it doesnt work anymore! Now before I go any further I've contacted Amazon via chat and since it has a 1 year warranty they have processed a refund and sent me a return label so very helpful. So, after 10 months of using it occasionally it has stopped working properly. It disconnects intermittently, like every song. But I cant drop them any more than 1 star from 5 stars because it's all under warranty and in the process of getting returned, and if all of this I've written isn't enough to convince you..........I've already ordered my replacement.Tip: Get the 3 year warranty amazon are offering at the moment for £7 if you plan on keeping more than 1 year, if mine had failed after the 1 year period this would have sorted it too. Or just return within 1 year warranty included.
