I tend to use the largest and smallest squares most - the larger for woodword, and the smallest is ideal for setting up and checking that my mitre saw and band saw blades are at the right angle. All are great for ensuring joints are square. Well worth the purchase.

Checked this set for square and they were all perfect. Can't complain at all at this price. Well worth buying if you need a square.In case you don't know, easiest way to check they're square is to mark a line on something, flip the square around and then mark another line by the side of the first. If the two lines are parallel you're good to go.

Use these in woodworking and for setting up power saws etc for accurate cutting. They are all square which is the main thing as not all squares are made equal..!The box that they come in is a piece of junk. Cheaply made and the insert that holds the squares is just bad. It doesnt fit the box and pieces of the foam insert are just not glued down to the base section properly. The fastening clasp is just naff. If you want a proper presentation box look elsewhere. A shame as the squares are well made.

Nifty set of precise tools. Super handy for my woodworking. Very good value for money!

Packaging: five stars.Each square is individually oiled and wrapped, to keep them safe in storage, and the box is wrapped also.There is also a protective cardboard layer inside the box to stop them rattling around during transit.Machining: five stars.All of the squares are well machined and smooth.Quality and accuracy: five stars.These are reassuringly heavy squares. I took a piece of MDF straight off the table saw and proceeding to draw lines off the inside and outside faces. I then flipped the squares over and drew fresh lines next to the originals. I did this for each square separately and ended up with 12 parallel lines. I don't think I have ever purchased squares this consistently accurate at this price point before!Overall I am very pleased with these squares and feel that I will be able to trust them for cabinetry, machine set up and all the other tasks where ninety degree accuracy is required!

Absolutely spot on for being square.

OK, so the box they are in doesn't pass as a potential family heirloom but it is solid enough, lined with protective foam, and the locking clasp works well. Each square is wrapped in its own plastic bag and bathed in protective oil. Nice set of precision squares with a good weight. Ideal for setting up machines such as radial arm saws and planer/thicknessers. I'm happy with the quality, price, and delivery time.

I was attracted to this set of four try-squares by the claim that they were hardened and conformed to workshop BS939 Grade B accuracy - better than I need but that's the way I like it - and they came in a box.Considerable effort is taken to ensure the squares are rust-free when you receive them: the outer cardboard box has a plastic film on its inner surface; the wooden box is wrapped in a polythene bag; each square is individually sealed inside a polythene bag; and finally the squares are coated in light oil. Consequently, there wasn't any rust! In use however, the ground surfaces will be a rust magnet so I'll lightly coat them with Boeshield T-9.The squares are nicely finished and each has a small slot cut in the stock on the inside corner to accept any burr on the inspected item. The squares rest in channels cut in a neoprene-like material, and there is a lightweight sheet of foam loose above them beneath the box lid. I am not confident the box would survive being dropped on the floor.Be aware that the dimension of each square refers to the lower edge of the blade, running from the inside corner. So the 2" square's blade is actually 3" long.An excellent set for precise woodworkers; I can't speak for engineers.

Not perfect, but hey I'm not machining ultra-high-precision parts for medical devices, I'm making things out of wood. These are plenty good enough for what I do. Very good value for money. Solid construction. Recommended by Matt Estlea (see his excellent woodworking videos on YouTube). Glad I bought them, would buy them again, gladly recommend to others.

it's not square and the 75mm square is twisted Also the foam in the box is cut incredibly poorly.Don't buy it, I'm returning mine.

I use these engineers squares for carpentry and they are great. At first I wasn't sure I needed 4 different sizes, but I regularly find myself switching and using the right size for the job. From small detailed marking of joints, through to working on larger pieces and calibrating tools.The first thing I did was to test all the inner and outer edges for squareness (using paper taped to a board, drawing lines then flipping the square to see if the lines match). All edges, inner and outer, were perfect!The only flaw I see in this set is that they are slightly loose in the box. So if you don't store the box flat then when opening the squares are often out of place and on top of each other.
