The Most Incredible Collection Ever
I have number 30,915 and this is the most incredible collection I've ever seen. I can't complain about the price. £180 is such a bargain for a complete blu-ray set, as well as all the DVD's, bonus disks and stunning collectibles. In the very expensive shop at the Harry Potter Studio Tour, it is at least £250. The delivery was excellent. I ordered late on Friday night and the set arrived on Monday morning, even though I only paid for standard £1 delivery and the estimate was Wednesday. The outer box was twice the size of the set and well packed so nothing got damaged. All disks and extras appear to be present and correct. Thank you Amazon!I was not sure whether the box would be cheap and flimsy, but it is super solid, with proper metal hinges, handles, magnetic closures and springs on the two smaller drawers. And it is huge- I cannot lift it easily! Once opened, I couldn't believe how amazing it looked, like a prop straight out of the films. Shaking with anticipation, I spent a wonderful hour opening drawers, finding and looking at everything. The disks for each film- Blu-Ray, DVD, Special Features and bonus disk with 'Creating The World of Harry Potter'- are beautifully presented in the style of a book. I do find it a little tricky getting them out but I am very clumsy. Last to be found, was an extra bonus disk inside a secret compartment. The thought that the designers have put into this collection is amazing.Besides the films, there's a fantastic full-colour hardback book of all the Harry Potter props. I loved seeing them for real at the Harry Potter tour but it's great to have a keepsake at home. The blueprints and label collection are so detailed and the cloth map is superb. I expected it to be quite thin but it is very well-made. Definitely one of my favourite pieces. The sketches and prints would look awesome framed but I can't bear to split up the set and then there is the locket. I bought a few pieces of jewellery at the Harry Potter Tour but they were so pricey- Slytherin's locket at least £30 to £40. This one is even better. You can even open it. I will probably be working my way through all the disks for a month but am so so happy with it all.If you are a die-hard Potter fan, ignore the haters and splash the cash. How can you rate an item 1 star before it's even released. If it's too expensive, don't buy it! Yes, Warner Brothers are out to make money. Anyone who has done the Studio Tour knows that but you don't NEED this set. There are lots of cheaper ones around. Yes, subtitles and audio options also vary and not all languages are on all disks. But this is one Collector's Boxset, one lot of 63,000 copies for the WHOLE planet. Of course, they couldn't make local versions for everyone. Use the copies you already have. Most of the set also needs a blu-ray player which I didn't have when I got this set (I bought a player specially) but I'm glad I did. The picture is better. The sound is better. Even if you can't play them right away, at least you'll have the disks for when you can. And once again, this is a set for EVERYONE. You can't make one boxset that will satisfy everyone on the whole planet. I couldn't care less about the ultraviolet copies but they are there for those who want them.I am one very satisfied Potter fan.
