The real deal....
I bought this for my three-year old nephew and he was chuffed to bits with it. Obviously , it does look impressive and there are sufficient functions on it other than the crane (sliding doors on the cabin, lorry doors which also open, counterweights which can be filled with sand and a choice of sirens) that serve to make the crane a more interesting toy. The picture gives the impression that this is a metal toy although it is largely built from plastic and whilst I would agree that it looks robust, I think care would have to be taken when the jib is extended as this does look a bit fragile. The winding mechanism is a bit tricky at first since the handle will not revolve unless pulled out from the locking cogs. Failure to do this makes a grating noise and will quickly damage the handle. Not sure how long the stickers on the side will last either. (Although it is obviously pleasing that it is a Liebherr crane as this company also owns my football team!) These reservations aside, there is no doubt that this is a magnificent crane and knocks spots off the other models I have seen.Having frequently engaged similar cranes on my own real projects, I think that this model is realistic but I would have thought it could have been enhanced by also including a crane operator and banksman as well as pedestrian barriers and road plates for the out-riggers so that an understanding of the whole lifting process can be achieved. This is a very minor grumble in an otherwise accurate and rather special toy.The packaging was not as sturdy as I would have expected although luckily Amazon put the parcel in a far better cardboard box and surrounded it with polythene bubbles.I would recommend this toy but suspect it is totally unsuitable for ny child under the age of three. Needless to say, I don't feel that there is an upwards age limit!

My son adores this, brilliant and excellent quality
This crane is excellent, I know it sounds cliche, but I don't write reviews. I bought this months ago for my 4 year old son and was just sat watching him play with it when I realised it's the only toy that he consistently plays with out of the many I have bought him, and he is very fussy and normally loses interest quickly. This is different, it's robust, very well made and so realistic. My son spends ages everyday attaching the hook to his various other toys, shoes, clothes and winches them up and down, there are little support/stabilisers that pull out to stop the crane from tipping. There are emergency siren lights as well. It is brilliant for imaginary play as he pretends he is rescuing his many toy figures from various heights or the roof of his play house, with various things attached he builds brick towers and then knocks them down with the "wrecking ball" he has created or he is rescuing a broken down car! The crane is big but more in the sense of tall, I'd say the actual lorry part is only about 18" but the crane arm extends to about 4 foot tall, so it feels like it's a big crane but doesn't really take up much room when the arm is down and it's stored away. Even adults that visit us say it's so cool and want to play! Overall I'd say just get it! Excellent quality, a true old style well made toy that will last and entertain for years.

good value - detailed toy with lots to do
This large crane is a toy that really engages kids, there is so much detail and lots to do, winding cranks, moving counter weights, extending balancing legs etc. it is on a scale that kids really can relate to and is very robust - my 2 kids (4+6) have been playing with it for over a year now and there is no obvious damage (and they are pretty hard on their toys). Great value compared to other toys in this price range.

Well made, you really do get what you pay for. This is a great product that if looked after will last for many years.
Got this for my son for his 4th Birthday. My aim was to buy a crane (which he always points out when he see's them) that was bigger than him. This easily achieves that! To say he loves it is an understatement. 2 Months later and he is still playing with it all the time.It is a bit tricky for a young child to use at first, so beware you will need to teach them how to play with it. You can't just give it to them and let them get on with it. There are still some bits my son struggles with now.I have to say, I have also enjoyed the odd play with this toy as well - as have a few of my friends :)

Amazing
Massive. Hugely detailed, sturdy.Santa brought this for my 3 1/2 year old. He loves it. He understands how it works and has rescued may toys that have fallen into 'the harbour'. He has no problem with the ratchet on the winch. He has no problems with the stabilisers.FantasticFrom the adult point of view, it is huge so it does take up room. The siren is not too loud which is a msssive bonus.

Brilliant Crane
I bought this crane for my 4.5 year old grandson Harry, who is mad about cranes. He absolutely loves it and plays with it almost every day. The toy is very well made and very robust but beware, it is rather larger than you might think from the photos; Fully extended it reached 130cm from the ground, which is part of its attraction. Harry is able to attach and detach the extender arm with ease. I am so impressed that I am planning to buy more toys from this manufacturer. Recommended without reservation.

Its great.
It nice to get a toy crane that looks and works like the real thing. Its big too the arm goes up to kitchen worktop level. It has the finish of a model rather than a cheap plastic toy. As the arm extends, children learn how this affects the hook (like in the real thing). The working stabilisers, show a child why they are need to stop things toppling sideways. My son loves it.

Brilliant. Lots of detail. My 3yr old son loves it.Being fussy I would say the one let down is the 'chain' is actually string and so doesn't keep tension. It also sometimes becomes separated from the crane. Still a very good toy.
