Best spade I've ever held!
This spade is a pleasure to use and feels like it will outlive me. I got my last one from a DIY chain store and it didn't cost much and lasted a few years but has just bent in the middle and is useless. I didn't have the money at the time to get a better one but the build quality on this one is so good that I don't think I'll ever have to replace it. I wish I had been able to get this on in the first place. Top quality. I'm a Chartered Engineer and have worked as a quality controller in engineering workshops for over 20 years. Before that I was a landscape gardener. An easy 5 Stars from me.

This Spade Means Business
After more than 60 years service of digging, my husband's spade (inherited from his father) finally broke. My husband was quite attached to his spade, no doubt because of the happy memories of help his father dig up potatoes throughout the generations.I carefully browsed on Amazon and came across this Spear & Jackson spade (Neverbend). We have been using this new spade for several weeks and we are delighted with its toughness (we have clay-based soil) so digging is quite a challenge. The spade made easy work of our back-digging. I recommend this product and hope other customers enjoy a long and happy relationship with the spade.

Wont break but not as strong when trying to get out deep rooted shrubs
Great spade.. but as I'm a gardener trying to dig out a shrub with roots it struggles because it is flexible under a surtain amount of pressure so I had to resort to a older spade that will break..Still it's a good product

Packaging Issue
Item arrived, looks sturdy and all the things I hoped it would be. But just be aware (company) - this item arrived with the box completely undone. It had obviously been opened, it hadn't come opened during transit.

Very tough but also very heavy but does the job

Delicate, can't use much force, handle starts giving up
I've been careful in applying too much force as I'm sure handle will break. Handle is not that strong. It's not useful for anything else than shifting soil. Not versatile. I second to the other users who have wrote reviews with photos of broken handle. It's a bit heavy too.
