Rayner's Organic Malt Extract, 6 x 340 g – Organic Natural Sweetener, Vegan & Vegetarian Friendly

Of the six jars received on 29/10/14 five had leaked in transit, making a sticky mess of the wrappings and requiring washing before they could be handled. It would appear either that the company who pack this product, Messrs Healthy Food Brands of Worthing, did not heat-seal the jars or use any other method of securing the lids against leakage or contamination; or the lids had been twisted and the seals broken before despatch. Each lid of the six could be turned quite easily. There is a tamper-proof band round the jar rim, as illustrated here, but this has no bearing on the matter of sealing. I cannot be satisfied that this product, as supplied to me, meets food hygiene standards. I believe we are entitled to an explanation of the facts stated above, from either Amazon or Messrs. Healthy Food Brands Ltd.

Product was very good, messy but that's what you get with any product like this. Wish I could say the same for Amazon's packaging however, I received so far three deliveries and all of them had at least one jar that popped open during shipping!

They arrived well packed but when opened 5 jars had leaked in to the box so was a bit of a sticky mess. I cleaned them but the following day when I went to take them out to use the cupboard had sticky mess again. I had to remove all the lids and try to wipe around them which made a right mess in the end I decanted all jars in to a Kilner jar. Sorry to say I will not buy again and I normally use about 8 jars a month in cooking.

I bought it because I had some blood tests done and my iron store was low so they reviewed it again after a couple of months. My second test was normal so I think I have to thank the barley malt extract for that. I still take it because I really like it, there is so many different ways of using it, have it as a drink, on toast, in baking,in porridge or like I do sometimes if I'm craving something sweet I have it off the spoon. Delicious.

I had this shipped over to Cyprus as I had purchased a Bread Making book for bread making machines which recommended it for several of the recipes. However, I have found that although I put the extract on top of all the other ingredients, it still goes to the bottom and on to the stirring mechanism and then this sticks into the final cooked loaf, meaning a split in the bottom of the bread through pulling the stirrer out.

Great deal and a great find , can't find this in any high street shop . I bought six in one box one arrived with the jar cracked and a few splinters in it but sorted that out and used it may be better packed next time !! Still a great deal ....

Malt is good for your gut health and makes yummy malt loaf

I bought this malt because I started marking malt loaf from Paul Hollywood recipe. It was perfect. I made repeat orders and decided to increase the size of the order. Unfortunately, one order was damaged on arrival, after contacting the company they replaced immediately. What you have here is a super product and a superb company.
