Good mug, so-so "self-stirring"
It's a very decent mug, I was just slightly let down by the "Self stirring" bit, but that really depends on your expectations.First off, the mug: It's big, but not massive. Can easily hold a frothy cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso, or a full mug of tea. The battery base/motor adds about 1 inch of height, but that doesn't make it too big. The weight is OK, slightly lighter than a ceramic one for the same size, even with batteries in. The dual layer walls (outer metal, inner plastic) make it retain some heat but not for as long as a normal travel mug (which is fine in my book). The lid is easy to secure and I've not had any problems with it - stays on, no spills, easy to remove. The rubber seal has held fairly well but take note: it *doesn't* screw on. Drop it and chances are it'll pop off, but otherwise quite happy with it. The handle is nice, a textured plastic slightly smoother than the inside but with a decent grip. Now, the self-stirring: I was a bit disappointed as I was expecting more of a frothing bit/speed, but no, it's just a small plastic spinner whose speed/power won't even come close. Now, as a *stirrer*, it's actually quite adequate and very silent. Will work up enough force/momentum to cause a small whirlpool in your drink, and sugar/other solids at the bottom will certainly dissolve faster. The button has a satisfying click to it and even though you're likely to activate it by chance, the speed is low enough not to spray everything around when you do. It takes 2 AAA batteries and the lifetime is OK, a single set of cheap pound store ones lasted for about 2 months with almost daily use (until the motor died, more on that later).Sadly, the spinner requires some cleaning - at least a good rinse after every use and getting a brush in once in a while. The rubber seal around the spinner axle will get clogged up with gunk fairly quick. About 3 weeks in, the stirrer wouldn't turn by itself at first, even though I cleaned it up regularly, needing some help from a teaspoon. If you're a tinkerer, you can unscrew the motor base, remove the spinner, motor and seal (in that order) and give it a good clean, it's quite fiddly but not impossible to put back in.Finally, a warning: Do *NOT* clean in the dishwasher. The battery base isn't rubber-sealed and will resist a normal tap stream but will leak in a high pressure and temperature dishwasher. I found mine (accidentally put by someone) in the dishwasher and the contacts had already started rusting overnight. 2 weeks later the motor died.I wouldn't say it's a great product but for the price and the mug quality alone I'm happy with my purchase.

This mug doesn't get any better
I saw it advertised. I bought one. I bought 14 more for family & friends for Xmas. I bought another one so I have one at home and at work.On the plus side. Extremely thorough stirring - faster & better than a spoon. Extremely stable against getting knocked over & lid prevents splashes (Ideal beside a keyboard). Retains the heat for a long time. Battery lasts SURPRISINGLY long time. It holds a LOT of liquid - - about equal to 2 ordinary mugs.On the minus side. The impeller shaft tends to dry out, or get stuck with sweeteners etc. - requiring some help to get it started again. (I leave a bit of clean water in the cup when not in use - - problem solved). I'm guessing that this is the reason it hasn't caught on so well - - my first thought was that the battery was flat - - - NOT SO ! (Follow instructions - a drop or 2 of Washing Up Liquid - stirred - rinsed thoroughly). Tea bags with string can be suspended above the impeller - - - it's best to squeeze them with a spoon if it has no string.Bottom line - - advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Liquid, then powder great mix!
Use it for any mixing of liquids and powders you need. However, if it will be a thick liquid (Heinz cup-a-soup) can be less evident that it is working so use step below for best results.I start mixing the liquid then add powder as the other way around can still lead to clumps.Lid and design of mug keeps drinks hot if needed and on request!Washing can beeasy if you do it quick enough, or can clog up the small plastic 'blades' mechanism and result in a screeching noise.Have had it cease to function, gave it a kick start with a flick to the 'blades' and it was fine again.

Now i can't honestly say this is a perfect product: i brought one as a gift for my friend and it worked fine for him and was really fun to mess around with and if you are lazy like him then i would definitely recommend it. However when i got mine it worked ok but the water drained through into the battery compartment and out the bottom ):Now in normal circumstances this would make me give it a 2 star or 1 star review however when i emailed them and asked for a refund they gave me a full refund and even said that i wouldn't have to go through the hassle of sending it back!I would say it is worth buying this because if it doesn't work then you know that you are dealing with a helpful and honest company who will give you a refund if it doesn't work, Please don't abuse this!

if it stops working, try cleaning around and under the stirrer
Got this for my boyfriend and he really liked it (he stirrs his drinks and always needs a spoon... not anymore!).As this is not dishwasher-safe, and we're a bit lazy, we left it to sit for several days after he had some hot chocolate. After washing it, it didn't work anymore but then my bf cleaned it carefully right under and very close around the stirring thing at the bottom of the cup, and it worked fine again! I think all the bad reviews are just people who didn't clean it in time and/or didn't think of trying to clean it a bit better around the stirring mechanism. We've had this for more than 2 months and it works fine.I am however cautious with it and wash it quite carefully, so that's a bit annoying :)

Great product! Fun to use
Its fun to use if you want to quickly stir a cup of coffee, or a hot chocolate that's settled for 15 mins.
