Gardman 04110 Fresh Sphagnum Moss - Jumbo Pack, Multi-colour, 17 x 29 x 43 cm

The moss arrived moist and healthy, and there was a generous amount...enough to line two very large baskets.Some of the other reviewers mentioned that it is bluish in colour, but as this is the natural colour of this plant, it's fine by me.I find it looks better if you trim it so you get rid of the inevitable straggly bits. Recommended, as it gives a natural finish to a hanging or wall display.

It is a very big bag. I wanted it to put on the soil of indoor plants. I thought I’d get a reasonable size but it is ooh 2ft by about 1ft at least. I will use it in hanging baskets as well this coming season. Highly recommend, arrived quickly, good size and quality and quantity.

I decided to fill a three-tiered garden planter this year.I needed to have lots of spagnum moss to line this and was pleased to find thispack at a reasonable price. It was god quality and was not dried out as some other pack are.This size of pack filled all three containers.I would buy this again as the quality was really good.

Brilliant, lovely lush wet moss...for my 18" hanging baskets, did need 3 packs but then I do use liberally....excellent quality.

Normally we use pre-shaped coir liners in our hanging baskets - with great success. But this year we have experimented with Fresh Sphagnum Moss to see if it's worth the extra cost. The hope was that it would look better than coir during the initial weeks before the plants established. From late July onward it wouldn't matter as the container is usually hidden under a mass of trailing blooms and foliage. But straight away the moss disappointed! We planned to line four 16" baskets as the pack advised only to find that there was insufficient even for two. Spreading it further would have been so thin that the compost would have just washed away. So they're both about 2" short from the top of the baskets and this has reduced the volume and therefore the available space for planting. Consequently these two baskets will not be up to our normal standards. The plants are all healthy and growing well (it's now early July) but ironically their vibrant greens contrast uncomfortably against the moss which looks dead, bedraggled and unhealthy. Sorry Gardman but we hate it! No redeeming qualities and at more than 8x the cost of coir the choice is simple.

I used this product on all of my hanging baskets. I usually get pre formed liners but this year I decided to use a more traditional method. It is easy to make side holes for trailing plants.I found this material a bit difficult to start with but soon learnt to build up the sides as you fill with soil/compost putting in the lower trailing plants as you go.My Dad gave me a tip years ago ”don’t put your plants out until after the Cup Final” this is because of the frost risk. That tip has never let me down.

Good quantity and large enough pack. I am not sure if the moss is alive (or fresh) but it is keeping well as long as it is in moist bag. If it starts growing in bag may be it will be considered really fresh. Happy with the product for the job it does.

Arrived earlier than expected, just as described. Moss was fresh and moist. Would definitely buy again.

Prodotto eccellente soprattutto per la coltivazione di piante da torbiera e orchidee epifite. Lo sfagno non è vivo però, anzi nonostante sia verde in alcune parti, questo è dato dal colorante che ci mettono. Difatti la colorazione verde è innaturale. Nonostante ciò per l'uso che ne dovevo fare (sfagno morto) sono molto soddisfatto.

Ich hatte für so wenig Geld wirklich nicht viel erwartet - zahlt man doch sonst wesentlich mehr für lebendes Sphagnum. So grün wie auf der Abbildung ist es nicht, aber das hätte mich auch schwer gewundert. Dennoch ist es wirklich frisch und tatsächlich noch lebend, dazu wirklich sehr langfaserig (20cm Stücke sind keine Seltenheit im Paket). Ich bin absolut begeistert und hoffe, dass es meine Orchideen auch sein werden. Es wundert mich ein wenig, dass es noch keine Bewertungen hierzu gibt. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

A servit à rempoter toutes mes orchidées en mélangeant avec des écorces de coco. C'est parfait, je ne dois plus arroser mes orchidées (par trempage) que tous les 15 jours

Gute Qualität, im Gegensatz zu getrocknetem Moos noch leicht grün bei Lieferung (mal sehen, wie sich das entwickelt). Die Mengenbeschreibung für Hanging Baskets ist allersings etwas überzrieben. Bei korrekter Füllmenge reicht ein Beutel knapp für 3 Hanging Baskets mit 35 cm Durchmesser, sonst ist die Randschicht zu dünn und die Erde suppt durch. Für 4 wie auf dem Etitikett beschrieben reicht die Menge auf keinen Fall. Daher 1 Stern Abzug.
