The quantumAV modification kit\/adaptor plugs into the RS232 and USB port on the rear of the Oppo UDP-203, Oppo BDP-105EU, Oppo BDP-103EU, Oppo BDP-105D or Oppo BDP-103D to convert the player to a multi region DVD and multi Zone Blu ray capable player. DVD Region free as standard and Blu ray Zone is altered using your remote control. With no disc in the tray press 'Dimmer,Dimmer,Dimmer,Mute' and then'1,2 or 3' (for Zone A, B or C) , power Off. The player will then be in the required Zone once powered on.

It does the job as described, but it took me three attempts to make a region change.Initially, I was entering the Dimmer, Dimmer, Dimmer, Mute, information too quickly.So take your time folks.

Works perfectly. It may not look neat, but it's on the back of the player and you can't see it anyway, so don't worry!

Simple fast modification that works...
So simple to connect and within a minute my Oppo UDP-203 is multi-region and multi-zone.

Overpriced. put together with cheap cable, but it does the job OK I suppose, and that's what matters. Looks like the rubber was melted with a hairdryer!!!!

Works great
Works great with my Oppo, and can now watch all my region locked Criterion blu-rays on a top of the range player.

This mod does actually work!
It's a bit pricey and it doesn't look very sexy, but it does what it says on the tin!Only problem I had at first was that I had the unit's power setting set to network standby. Once I changed that it worked like a charm!
