Finally a seller that can be trusted!
I've tried so many time to get a player that works as described but left with a basic player and the same excuses, this seller responded to my messages and questions fast and reassuringly; finally I got a player that works perfectly as needed and as described. Highly recommended.

A brilliant 'dumb' disc player...
I bought this player for two reasons: First, because I wanted a good quality, low fuss, plug and play device. Minimal input/output ports, an absence of pointless settings (I really am fed up with opening a piece of kit now and having 150 holes in the back and the 'technical capacity' to execute a medium sized nuclear offensive), BUT it had to have upscaling to compliment a 4K TV along with multi-region ability and I have to say, to that end this player aces all of those requirements... hands down. The picture quality and sound reproduction are outstandingly good and watching one of my older DVD's such as Avatar (lots of colour, movement and noise), shows a clear and very sharp difference after a standard (though good quality) DVD player it replaces. It really is that good and I'm delighted with it.Which leads me to the second reason I bought this. It says it's 'Smart'... and it probably was (by the standard of 2005 or so). I was looking to ditch my box from under the TV and use this to organise catch up TV and set up Kodi and a couple of other preferred apps. Forget all about that. As standard, you get the BBC, Netflix and twitter (Facebook isn't on mine) and perhaps a dozen junk apps. And the only thing emptier than the app list... is that standard app market that amounts to a repository of all things unheard of and non-useful. The app list is mainly empty, I can't find a way to download and run my own apps and set them up though. Oh... and the Web Browser. Well... just give it a miss! Anyway, after 25 minutes the Ethernet cable was removed from this player and replaced in the original media box for continued use.Conclusion... Whilst I'm bordering on for stars just for the brilliant, above entry level disc player and image/sound enhancer, I just can't do it! I'm keeping it for playing discs (of course), but it's a real shame that despite what Panasonic say, it really isn't very smart at all and the £60 box I wanted to vanish from under the TV, is DEFINITELY still needed.

It was fine while it worked ...
Well, that was disappointing. I bought Panasonic because they've always been such reliable disc players for me. My DMR-EX773 is several years old, used every day and still going strong. However, the Blu-Ray player I've had for just two years, and used it maybe six times, as most of my discs are DVDs. Now it just won't recognise any disc I try to load ("This disc is incompatible"). Not Blu-Rays, not DVDs nor CDs. I've tried running a cleaning disc, and even that won't mount. I can only conclude that the disc transport or the laser is shot. What a shame ...Maybe I just got a Friday machine, so I will give Panasonic another chance ... but with some caution.

Excellent player, multi regional functionality works a treat!
After dealing with another company and being disappointed with the product and service I received as it didn't work (multi regional wise) I thought I'd give these guys a shot after reading lots of good reviews about them and their products. I'm glad to say these guys deliver nothing but quality in terms of customer service and the the player mod that your buying this player for. So far I've played region b blu rays, region a blu rays and region 1 ntsc and 2 dvds with no issues, all dvd regions play automatically and to switch blu ray regions you just go to the home screen and press either 1, 2 or 3 depending on what region you want, the player then remembers that region code until you change it again. The player itself is compact and attractive and is everything you'd want a blu ray player to be in terms of quality, functionality and ascetics. Great products, great company, 10/10 👍🏻

Sneaky but nice on other levels.
This works as a multi region blu-ray player and dvd player. Unfortunately I did not know enough about the 4k Uhd technology to realise that it does not play 4k Uhd discs. Which is why I bought the thing. The info is a tad misleading.

You could buy cheaper versions - but.
A brilliant player, I paid over-the-odds to have a multi-region, multi-zone version but then again I have always bought DVDs from all around the world so it was worth it for me. Its up-scaling to 4K is a nice future-proofing facility, and makes sure I get the best possible picture on our new 4K telly. I haven't long had it so I can't comment on all of its features yet but it seems to be a great entertainment deal.
