Bob the cat took to this scratcher straight away. I didn't use the cat nip because he's not a big cat nip fan anyway. But he loooves cardboard and loves to give his claws a work out on this every morning when he's just awake and doing his stretching exercises.He does not use it as a lounger. I've tried placing it in various areas (near a radiator, under the window in a sunny patch) but can't get him to stay still/relax on it. So now I actually have it propped up on one end, on a slant. After his scratching session, he uses it as a slope to climb up to sit on the window ledge.I didn't want to spend so much on a cat scratcher. But I liked the modern look of it and now that it is in my living room, I do feel it blends in with the decor - certainly a lot better than other cat items. And he uses it every day. After every meal, he goes straight over to it.It is really sturdy. You can tell it will last a long time. Good value, then. Glad I went for this one and not the bigger one which would have been too big (in my house) (for just one cat). But if I had two or more cats, I'd definitely get the other, bigger one :D*edit 2 years later* after the first year, the outside was shredded so we cut it in half to get inside and then he had 2 brand new scratchers! He still uses them every day. Perfect for climbing up to the window ledge.

Great product, excellent quality and the only cat scratcher I would ever have for my cat.

Thrilled with this item. We have a very large cat - he's part maine coon, very long and weighs 15lb. We've had to buy dog beds for him as cat cushions are too small, so it's hard to find cat towers that are big enough for him that aren't hideous to look at or monstrously large. I bought the lounge in dark brown and it's a wonderful item. Really well made of tightly compacted cardboard, the cat got claws stuck in straight away and it held up very well. Looks more like a modern coffee table than a piece of cat furniture and definitely looks like it costs more than the retail price. Stylish and functional, our cat loves to sleep on it as well as use it as a scratcher. We hide toys in the curve for him to play with and he loves that too. Since it arrived he has spent several hours a day perched on it or sleeping on it. Included in the parcel is a small packet of organic catnip which when rubbed on the lounge encourages use. We put the lounge in front of a chair that he had had a go at clawing and he hasn't used the chair since. All scratcher, all the time.Love the fact that it is reversible for extended use and that when it gets completely shredded we can just pop it in the recycling bin. Incredibly well thought out design and ecologically friendly!Highly recommended.

Brilliant! Just wished we'd discovered this product before. I have to admit to being a little apprehensive when we first unpacked it. It's basically layer upon layer of cardboard and I had to wonder how long it would last. Luckily both of my cats didn't share my apprehension, they sniffed, they scratched-they love!I sprinkled it with catnip first, not sure that was entirely necessary, but both cats seemed to appreciate the effort.They have a good old scratch & small amounts of cardboard fall off-if they've scratched hard enough! I can see these lasting a while, we've had them well over a month & they are used several times a day, by both cats & are still popular. Our old one had broken & we were just about to have 2 new sofas delivered. I think they've scratched the sofa about once or twice since - unheard of! They genuinely seem to love their new PetFusion scratchers!Another clear benefit to these is that they look so much more prettier than traditional scratching posts.We bought two PetFusion scratchers at the same time & I'm glad we did, in fact, we plan to buy another. In our house now, every night we see what has quickly turned into a routine. Spooks curls up on the sofa & our other cat Benny, curls up on his scratcher/lounger.

I was more-or less convinced by the huge amount of positive reviews, but all of you know very well: you can never be sure about your cat's reaction... :) So I was a little bit concerned, but since this scratcher looks as good as in pictures, it was worth a try... Still better than to lose one year old 1000$ sofa... Tried literally everything from doormats to rubber, nothing worked. Our cat only wanted the furniture...The product arrived and as soon as I opened the box, cat showed up and started to check it. The scratcher is cleverly packed with a bag of catnip, and since products are pre-packed and stored (mine is from a 2016 batch), it has enough time to absorb its scent.When I placed it on the floor, cat left the box immediately and sniffed around the newcomer. Then he suddenly lied down and hugged the whole thing like "Oooh, I love it. And it's (also) mine!" :) Then he went on the top, tried to find the catnip I suppose. He did not scratch it then, but absolutely fell in love with it. In the morning, he was still sleeping on it, but then the miracle happened: found the first scratches. Attached a photo of playing King of the Hill, looks really serious! After a while I saw him doing it again, so I can tell you that this scratcher is the real deal, save your furniture while you can! :)
