The Walking Dead - Season 6 [DVD] [2016]

This show in my opinion is the greatest show on earth. I've seen all but one season of Game of Thrones, am getting stuck into Breaking Bad, and have seen my fair share of great TV shows (the second best of which being Peaky Blinders) but none are quite like this show. In my mind, it isn't perfect, but it may as well be. Many people say it gets better with each season... they're right. let me outline some things for you (rather a lot of spoilers):Season 1: Very good introductory season, made me want to watch some more, but that was really it, it's there to introduce the show, a few silly continuity errors, but we can get round that.Season 2: A lot of people say it's dull, and I don't completely disagree, I too stopped for a bit after a few episodes, but was brought back and boy am I glad I was. Some episodes are amazing, gotta love Shane and Jon Bernthal, but some do drag a little, the last 3/4 are really good. I think a lot of people hate on it because they tried to concentrate more on character development than gore.Season 3: This was where I thought it really took off, incredible season, the governor is awesome, but some of the Woodbury stuff may seem a little drawn out, absolutely adore this season though, was around the point I started to properly love the show.Season 4: Some of the stuff at the beginning (the governor's story episodes) weren't quite as enthralling as the rest, but the rest of the season, especially after the prison, was incredible. "What you gonna do now sport?"Season 5: The premiere is still one of my favourite episodes of TV to date having watched it 4 or so times, and the rest of the season really is just so good, there was no doubt in my mind at this point it was my favourite TV show of all time. Some of Beth's stuff felt a little unneeded but I'm never going to forget her death scene, which is then followed next episode by Tyreese!!! One of the deaths that actually hit me the hardest in one of the best made episodes I believe.Season 6: Now I can't think of anything properly wrong with this season except some might say Morgan's episode, which I still thought was really good, and then Glenn's fake death, but even though it may have been predictable, if he had died, I might have too...Overall, this show takes up way too big a portion of my life, and I could and do talk about it for days, and this is so much because I just love the characters way too much!!! I know it's predictable, but Daryl is my favourite, he's just come so far and is so awesome, but I just absolutely love everyone else as well way too much, and have no doubt I'll be grieving for months after the season 7 premiere!So this was about a hundredth of why this is the best TV show on earth, I just felt the need to vent you know?I know everyone's so hung up on Negan's victim, but I can't be the only one super psyched for Jesus this season, he is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters!

This series just goes from strength to strength, although it has become and continues to be grittier than grit and I believe that is going to disturb some viewers and put of some potential viewers so be warned, hope, happy moments and pleasures are very, very few this season and even when it appears that wrongs are being righted and things working out for the very best its all bitter sweet and involves some truly horrendous choices between bad and worse.Thematically, I think, that there is developing an idea that "walkers", ie the zombi walking dead, are becoming "softer", ie rotted, easier to slay with a single blow, dealt out by the younger or older members of the outfit, but that the people of the post-apocalyptic world are becoming "harder" and "harder", that is brutal, ruthless, mean and sadistic. Some of the greatest character development goes on with the contemplation of whether or not or how the mainstay of characters will adapt themselves to this "new world" or "new world order", for me this is absolutely brilliant and why I keep watching, the actual walking dead have long since become a less crucial "situational hazard" in the background while the survival horror and "people under siege/stress/crisis" aspect has been accentuated. Are you good or are you bad or is it even possible to maintain that sort of thinking and for how long and what happens if you can or cant makes for good viewing.I am not aggrieved by some of the aspects of the show I've heard reviewers and critics complain about, including cliff hangers and the fate of particular characters, that has happened every season when you think about it and perhaps the show has gotten uglier or meaner as seasons have past but then again perhaps the horrible nature of events in the earlier seasons didnt just hit home quite as it should have or was meant to. Although I'm sure people will keep discussing that sort of thing for time to come. What I would say is that this season definitely does not act sparingly or pull its punches in its portrayals of some truly mean and wicked individuals, I would say evil individuals, but I personally think its important not to sanitise that too much for viewers who know what to expect and choose to follow the show.It is compelling viewing, I felt compelled to write a review on the back of it and I've not felt compelled to write reviews about the other seasons quite so much. It did not feel like there was much, or anything actually, in the way of bridging episodes or filler content this season too.

いきなり、とんでもないオープニングから始まります。（笑）途中　死んだと思ってたキャラが実はこういう事だったというトリッキーもありますがWalking Dead らしいショッキングなエンディングです。人が集団を作ると権力がうまれ、集団と集団の間で争い、戦争になった時より大きな暴力をもっている方が勝利する・・・。　争わないことを体現した棒術のキャラの意味が際立ちます。
