Brilliant product - Well worth trying before replacing that expensive furniture
Having a quite new brown leather suite, I was really annoyed to find some bright orange areas on the headrest of the swivelling recliner which looked like a chemical had been splashed onto the surface and removed the colour. The damaged area was around the size of my hand. I bought this kit to try and make it look a little less obvious and put off replacing the chair for a little longer. The kit was comprehensive and contained everything required to recolour the leather. A large bottle of the base brown was accompanied by several bottles of colour with which to adjust the shade of brown to match the leather. I tried the brown on a test area and it appeared to be a perfect match at first, but once dry, the shade was a little too light. Following the instructions included with the kit, I added a little black & magenta in equal quantities to darken down the colour and this time the shade was perfect.Next came the clear coat. The kit comes with a bottle of gloss and a bottle of matt clear to match the sheen of your leather. My first coat was with straight matt as the leather was not particularly shiny, but the resulting sheen when dry was far too dull. For the second coat, I mixed gloss and matt in equal quantities and the result was a great match. The headrest was given a final buff all over with a cloth. The final results are so good, it's no longer possible to see where the damage was and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm an amateur watercolour artist so mixing and matching of shades comes quite easily. I can thoroughly recommend this kit, but would suggest that if you aren't confident about mixing shades, that you practise on an area that cannot be seen first.* It's over a year Now since I used and reviewed this little kit so I thought an update might be worth doing. The treated chair has seen a lot of use in that time and I still can't actually detect the areas which were damaged on the headrest so it's standing the test of time really well.* Time for a final update. It's more than two years since I used this kit to repair marks in my leather furniture. I've just reused the kit for the first time; not to redo the original repair but to repair an area of wear on the arms of the sofa. The original repair is still perfect and indistinguishable from the surrounding untouched areas. The product is still perfectly usable after two years in the bottle and I was very grateful to see I'd written on the box the exact quantities (50 drops of brown to 5 drops of black) for the perfect colour match - I recommend you do this just in case. I still cannot recommend this product highly enough.

Simply amazing!
When I purchased this I was under the impression I would be receiving one large bottle of brown dye like substance in order to build up and repair the sofa.I was slightly concerned when I received a bag filled with several little bottles.Thought myself this will no way repair all sections I needed on my eight seater sofa – boy was I wrong!A little goes a long long way!I just wish I bought this sooner, I read the instructions carefully and thoroughly and followed everything to the point. Tried out a little section hit no way see how it would match and luckily enough the premixed Brown was a perfect match I didn’t need to add any other colours to it.All I can do is recommend this product it was so easy to do and took me less than an hour to get everything done – and was quite therapeutic in the process actually! What are you waiting for just buy!

Surprisingly affective.....
I used this on two faux leather chairs, which were flaking, and looking very patchy. To be honest, I didn't really think this stuff would make much difference.Well, it did.Much easier to use than I expected, great value for money, and the end result is a huge improvement. The chairs now look fashionable distressed, and glossy. No idea how long they will remain so, but so what? I can always do it again.Have saved myself the cost of two new chairs.Phew....

don't waste your time
Tried their other product out before, leather restorer it worked well only BIG problem it came off as soon anybody sat down and perhaps its wrong type leather finish? Let's try their leather colourant instead as recommended by there advertising read the mix reviews give it a try. Also brought there leather filler for the wear & tear on the seat covers at the same time.Used there colour filler it works well only problem it does not match the sofa colour never mind the colour colourant will fixed that.Colour has rubbed off all seat covers leaving filler left with patches of filler.Shame spent so much time following the instructions mixing the colour and putting it on, leaving it to dry only to rub off the next day before the final stages.Retried colouring the seats the next day finishing off with final top coat mat/gloss mixed together.supply is small! finish ok colour patchy due to some colour came off in places while dabbing on top coat.Final coat finish just about had another to do one coat on three seats covers with both bottles mixed together if you require a gloss or matt finish to your leather buy more bottles not sufficient amount supplied in pack to do two coats as recommended by them.Seats look a whole lot better now, filler did a good job took a lot of paint layers to hide filler patches big concern will it last with only one top coat. Time will tell.Would I recommend there products yes for the filler not so sure about colourant it was coming off in patches on 1 seat whilst tabbing on the final top coat so seat cover looks patchy & most sufficient not another final top coat supplied to dab two coats as recommended by them.Over all all paints & top coats supplied in pack are the size of samples look else where if like me the wear & tear was on more than two seat covers.May be this is why they're don't use U Tube to demonstrate there products.April 2014 updateSince this treatment we can now comment how long this has lasted on all seat covers I would like to say it has, unfortunately the final top coat has now peel away including the colour on one cover. The filler has also come away, now in position to have to resort to re treat this time a different product.
