Source Naturals Ubiquinol CoQH 100mg Serving - 90 Softgels

I am a 58-yr-old female. Within a few days of my first capsule, I had a bit more energy and my bowel movements--which tend towards hard stool (not necessarily true constipation)--became regular and softer. I was so elated! However on the night of day 7, I could not fall asleep the majority of the night and I began to feel a burning sensation and urge to urinate in my urinary tract. The next morning, it was painfully obvious that I had the beginnings of a urinary tract infection and diarrhea. By noon that day, I had urinated 8 times and had burning and that gosh-awful, urinary tingling feeling that wouldn't go away. At the same time, I had made four trips to the bathroom with diarrhea. I immediately began drinking copious amounts of water and a regimen of 200mg trimethoprim antibiotic (I am allergic to sulfa) twice daily. The burning and tingling began to subside on day 3 of the antibiotic. I apologize for the "too much info" on my side effects, but I felt it was important enough to mention for older, menopausal women--particularly those prone to UTIs--to be aware of the possibility. I absolutely attribute my side effects to the Ubiquinol due to the timing and because I had made no other change to my longtime supplement regimen or diet. I have never taken the product since and remain symptom free. I do believe my negative response is considered somewhat uncommon, particularly since most everything I read about coQ10 states that it is GOOD for kidney disease patients! However, the Mayo Clinic does mention UTI as a possible side effect. I am giving 2 stars instead of just 1 because the supplement's initial help with my energy level and bowel regularity.

I've taken this for years. My family has a history of their hearts attacking them, so a doctor suggested ubiquinol over a decade ago. A friend who was in the supplement business recommended Source Naturals. Well, I'm still here, and have outlived both my parents. My various test results are all excellent, and I attribute at least part of that to this product.However, I had to return two of the last three orders I placed for the product, from different vendors. My suspect is that somewhere along the line they were exposed to heat sufficient to weld the softgels together and they could not be extracted from the bottle. To Amazon's credit, the return process is very easy and customer friendly. But, I am still in need of the product. I'll try to get it locally, so I can shake the bottle before the purchase.So, great product, but getting it in usable state has been a challenge recently.

I've read for years about the benefits of CoQ10 and ubiquinol for increasing energy and overall well-being, but was always a little hesitant to try these supplements. As I've gotten into my forties, I've noticed feeling less energetic, so finally decided to see if something like ubiquinol would make a difference. Within a few days of taking this product, I noticed an increase in energy and felt more even-keeled (less swings in energy levels and moodiness). I felt the need to exercise more to "burn off" some of this energy. If I didn't exercise moderately when using this product, I didn't sleep very well at night as I had this feeling of excess energy in my body. When I exercised moderately, I felt great and slept well. Overall, I like the perceived benefits of this product.

Have no dislikes a quality product

Maybe it's just me but I get sick less and feel more energetic when taking these (along with astaxanthins).This year is the first year since getting sinus infections (been getting sinus infections since my early 30's...now 43) that I have had no flare ups. I did have issues with allergies, which is what usually leads to the sinus infections but nothing this year....I also started doing regular colonics (use pre/probiotics in my flushing) and I know that has helped as well.I eat well, exercise, and see a neuropath along with my regular doc and my health has gotten better 10 fold...alternative medicine (along with western if really necessary) is the way to go...If other animals can use nature to heal themselves why shouldn't humans.

This type of supplement was recommended at my annual visit. Had to search around a little to get one that met the specifications from the doc. These pills are a bit larger than I would like, but I have managed to take them, as I should. Might get the one that are half the strength next time around and take 2, hoping that they are smaller! Seems to be a quality product. As always, Amazon shipping was fast and dependable! How do they do that? LOL

I have to assume it is Ubiquinol as that is what the name says on the bottle however I am disappointed in the size of the pills. The last Ubiquinol I purchased was also 100mg gelcaps but they were much smaller and therfore much easier to swallow. These pills are HUGE. They are the largest pills I have ever taken and I take a lot of pills. Before I got this email to rate the product, I was contemplating sending the manufacturer an email complaining about the size of these pills. Assuming these pills work as they are supposed to, and I'm not sure if I will ever know if they are working, I would never buy these again because of their size

This product has worked very well for me, and the price seems fair. For those in need of a good quality CoQH supplement (for instance those who need to take statins to control their cholesterol levels, as is my case), this is a good choice. Older adults who need help processing CoQH will benefit from the reduced form (ubiquinol), and as stated before this is a good product at a decent price.
