Did exactly what we needed - cost effective product, cardboard insert inside clear plastic box allowed easy comparison of test strips by lying them on the plastic outer then wiping it down for the next go,- have tested soil in solution as I wanted, smaller people in my life have tested significant quantities of other items too - from the dogs drool, drinks and their sunday dinner - few hours of entertainment and still a good number of strips left if I ever need another rainy day activity!

Does what it says on the tin! Sometimes the old ways of doing things are the best. After having several electronic pH meters that constantly need calibrating or just fail we decided to go back to what we knew before. These are good, accurate however a little flimsy. I remember buying some a few years ago which were made from a type of plastic which made it easier to dip the strip into liquids. These strips are a little flimsy but I'm just being pedantic now.

We were quoted an odd value by a laboratory after a 'comprehensive drinking water test'. We did not believe the variation from previous results so sent for these strips. They showed that the value was in the previous range and based on this we were able to get the lab to do another test which confirmed the results from the strips. Easy to use and read in solid storage case.

I didn't find these very accurate. All my water (tap, filtered and bottled) the water in my fish tank, fizzy drinks, urine and even aftershave all seemed to have a very similar ph. Surely not! Going to buy a digital p.h. tester next.

I bought this so I could check when my fermenting cabbage for sauerkraut was ready. Once made I dipped a strip and got a neutral no change 7. After 2 days I checked again and reading 5, after another 2 days I was at 4 and could pack my sauerkraut into jars. For a complete beginner at fermenting this was a brilliant check. Colours matched perfectly.

Does the job but I wish the packaging was different. The strips can be easily spilled out of the case which makes it difficult to work with.

I bought this paper to test pH of alkaline water... when the package arrived, the little plastic box the strips come in was unsealed and had a very secure barcode label stuck across the front of the box.I tested tap water and ACTiPH 9.0 bottled water... both showed the same colour change after 15 seconds..pH7 so not very accurate. As the bottled water should have been ph9 at least.I also tested these in vinegar and it showed a pH3. So they do work if it's a Big jump in pH but the change between pH7, 8 and 9 very poor. Disappointed in these.

Für Leute, die gern erkunden, Verschiedenes zu Hause nachprüfen und den pH-Wert wissen wollen eine gute Wahl. Die Farbskala befindet sich direkt auf der Packung. Dort kann man nach dem Benetzen des Streifens mit der zu testenden Flüssigkeit direkt die Farbe des vorletzten Kästchens (verfärbt sich) mit den Farbskalen auf der Packung vergleichen und den pH-Wert ablesen. Tut, was es soll, alles prima.
