What a great improvement
I would not be without these lumbar supports. I have one on my office chair, dining room chair, and in my car. I generally suffered from poor posture and lower back pain following an assault. These help you sit properly whilst working at a computer taking the pressure off your lower back, almost immediately relieving the pain. They are also great generally, I'd recommend for secretarial or admin workers, who sit most of the day at a desk. They help posture, as well as, offering great support to your back, helping to alleviate the likelihood of a pulled muscle, trapped nerve, or strain when rising. This is something common for people sitting a lot. They can also be used (though not likely secured with the strap) on your armchair. You just have to ensure you place it well enough. Even though I have back problems, I don't need it on my comfy armchair. It's all about needs and preference there. The strap at the rear of the mesh goes over your chair to secure it at the base of your chair back, usually placed flush with the seat in that position.Very good product that lasts a great time, longer than expected for the price. The only one I've replaced is the one in my car, I'd say that's more likely to be rough treated getting in and out. It was the blackstrap that came way, which is not ideal for going over car chairs, but it does, just. However, I stand by the product and glad to find something so lowly priced that works so well.

Worked initially for my car; does a great job for my desk chair
Originally bought this for my Skoda Octavia (the front seat lumbar supports don't do a very good job, and I was getting a sore back after only an hour's driving). Saw something similar in Halfords for £10 and decided to look on line, which is when I found this.It worked very well for the first 6-8 months, but then seemed to "soften up" and not provide as much support as before (which is why I've only given it 4 stars). I've now replaced it in the car with "'3D' Mesh Orthopedic Memory Foam Lumbar Support Cushion - With Air Circulation - Reduce Back Ache, Improve Posture! BLACK", which has consistently provided firm support for the last year. However, I've used this since on 2 desk chairs and it's still provided very good support to my back.Well worth considering, especially given the price, but be aware that it may be a bit limited for some uses.

Great item for it's value
Bought a couple of these for home/work use for me and my mum!My mum was sceptical at first but uses it on most chairs she can put it on.I prefer using it for a typical office chair at work. Not overly keen on it for other chairs as it shifts around a fair bit and doesn't do much for me, hence the 4 stars. For it's price you can't really go wrong. Cheap and chearful it most definately is and worthy of trying out if you sit at a chair for large amounts of time which we are no doubt all guilty of doing. I have had on/off problems with my lower back and do feel it helps somewhat. The main downside you will find shuffling it up and down as it isn't likely to stay in one place. Can't comment on it's use for a Car Seat though as I don't drive.

Good product
Excellent value for money costing only a few pounds. Very lightweight and breathable. The elastic strap seems to work well on an Octavia seat. Flexible and moulds well to the back, and shock absorbing due to the construct and material used.Realised I probably need something slightly thicker though - may try putting a thin cushion behind the support to add to the thickness. The only issue I have is that the raised ridges on the sides are quite firm, and are not comfortable for my arms to rest on when they are not on the steering wheel. May not be best for the passenger seat.Update in January 2020:Slightly worn, but still holding its shape and doing its job, in a different car, 7 years later! Thank you!!

Does the job for a good price
I broke my back last year and went back to work in an office but found it too uncomfortable so I bought one of these to hold me in the right position and it did the job. From looking on here there are a lot that are very similar for a lot more money and I see no need to pay more than this price unless you want a more heavy duty one.It holds it shape fine. The only small issue was it does slip down a little as it's only held in place by one elastic strap and the the bottom edge gets stuck between the join at the bottom of the seat. For £4 I didn't mind shifting it back up once or twice a day.

Excellent
I have to admit I was very sceptical about this product. How can something costing a couple of quid be of any use? I spend up to eight hours a day in front of a computer and I suffer a lot of lower back pain - even after purchasing a relatively expensive 'Manager's Chair' I still suffered. With not much to lose, I ordered this back support and put it on my chair, and, much to my amazement, it worked. Place it lower down or higher up the back of the chair, round about the area the muscles in your back start to bunch up, and you'll notice the difference right away. And, for the first time in ages, I actually felt comfortable. This Lumbar Back Support isn't badly made, in fact, it's quite sturdy, but it isn't going to last for years, especially if you are in that chair every day. So, for the sake of a couple of quid, I've ordered another one, just to be on the safe side.It works. Give it a go...

Excellent Value for the Money
I needed a back support to help with my recurring back problems when driving my car. When this item arrived I was surprised at the light weight and apparently flimsy construction. However it has proved itself more than adequate for the job in hand and I would be happy to reccomend it to anyone considering buying such an item. Why spend more ? The only criticism I have is that the elastic fixing strap could be stronger and longer. It takes time and effort to position and/or remove it as the strap is at full stretch when fitting over the car seat. Possibly other cars have smaller seat backs and this would not be a problem. Other than that - 100% !
