Great for Nikon 200-500mm plus D7500 attached
Needed a case for my Nikon D7500 plus Nikon 200-500mm lens attached. With the hood reversed, this bag is a great fit, with just about 1/2” to spare. It’s really well made, and pretty solid too. No attachment points men’s I can’t carry the tripod, but that’s not really an issue. Fits my 20L Dry Bag perfectly, that means it’s also the perfect bag for a forthcoming Antarctica trip where we’ll be going shore in zodiacs. The other niggle is the plastic clasp doesn’t feel very strong. It’s not broken, so far, not really an issue.Would I recommend? Absolutely I would.

Tough all Over?
Ref: Ape Case ACPROLC18 Professional Large Lens Case, Black/YellowASIN B009KY5YYOPurchased based on two Youtube reviews by, Theoria Apophasis aka The Angry Photographer and The Sean Michael Simulation.I am currently using this with the Nikon D500 along with the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens. The case will accommodate both as long as the lens hood is inverted/reversed. The tripod mount can be left attached also. If you leave the tripod mount on the lens it balloons the case out a little, but it doesn’t strain the case too much. If you put the enclosed spacer/ pad at the bottom the bag it gives the lens more protection and provides a more snug fit. The materials, stitching and zippers appear to be good quality, of course time will tell on how they hold up.My only concern/reservation is with the D-rings and clasps. I don’t know what they are manufactured from, however they appear to be polymer or plastic. At the price point of the case and considering the considerable cost of the contents, I would have liked to have seen more robust metal being used here. I am apprehensive in using the shoulder strap because of this. They may be perfectly fine. Then again, cold winter weather combined with warm indoors, this could cause them to become brittle!! Who knows? My Four star rating reflects this, ‘Close but no cigar.’Personally, I think I’ll be using the strap handle for the time being, checking the stitching periodically for defects.Delivery – Ordered from across the pond, so to speak on the 18 Jan 2023. On 24 Jan it was in Baltimore, Maryland. On the 27 Jan it was in San Bernardino, California. On the 30 Jan it was in La Mirada, California. On 1 Feb it was in Feltham, Surrey, England. On the 4 Feb it arrived at my door. It was boxed and packed well, in perfect condition. The box didn’t have a single dent on it and arrived 7 days earlier than estimated. I’m happy as a pig in muck!

Just what he needed!
My husband bought this and is very pleased with it. He had been looking for such a camera case for quite a while. It’s good quality and apparently worth the money!

It worked with my camera equipment
I have used this for a couple of years now and it is rugged and protected my camera equipment very well. I frequently use it strapped to a carrier on my bike.

It fits! It fits! - Nikon 200-500mm w/ reversed hood & lens foot
Finally, after trying several lower priced, but very nicely design lens cases found on Amazon, the Ape Case fully fits the Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 super telephoto lens. The other brands were too small. They had nice handles, zippers, pouches, etc. But none can carry all the attachments with the Nikon 200-500 lens.I've always had hesitations on Ape Case camera bag designs and still have a few objections with this lens case design. But bottom line is this fits my hard to fit lens at a moderate price. There's 2 other brands that are $20 to $110 more than the Ape Case. But I can stop looking. What I like:+ Nikon 200-500mm lens with reversed lens hood and lens collar/foot slides in/out smoothly. (Being nearly square accommodates the lens foot that circular cases can't handle!)+ Plenty of padding on the bottom and around the sides.+ Wide belt loop. (But it's so wide, to use as carry handle or attach to camera bag/backpack.)+ Bright yellow interior lets you see what's inside.+ Nicely padded shoulder strap. What can be improved:- Top flap needs the buckle to secure. Pulling on the flap unzips the twin zippers to quickly access the lens. (Hook & loop should be added for extra security.)- Buckle not intuitive. You press down on the face of the buckle, which can be undone if you bang into something. (All conventional buckles squeeze from the sides.)- Need to be pull the top flap forward to gentle pull on the strap joining the twin zippers to close the case. (A conventional flip top with single zipper would be better.)- Top carry handle/strap is too narrow allowing only use with 2-3 fingers. (Should be bit longer and sewn further apart for a better grasp. Hence the belt loop makes a better carry handle.)- Belt loop hook & loop tabs are small and can undo. (Longer tabs would be more secure.)- 2 small pouches can only carry memory cards. (Better to have a pouch for lens filters or cleaning cloth as most other brands.)- Longevity of the zipper pulls, buckle, flap. (Material quality is good though.)

All expectations fulfilled
Was looking for a worthy case for my Nikkor 200-500mm for quite some time ,but the quality of products being offered was not something i would trust for my lens, the Lowepro one was bit more expensive than what i wanted. So ordered this item from global store , and it was delivered in 10 days against the estimated delivery time of 25 days! The quality of packing was decent enough.Pros:The quality of the outer material is pretty good, the seams are sturdy, both outer and inner material seem to be waterproof. The lid zips down in L shape covering the opening so that any drops falling will simply roll down and won,t go through the zip.The shoulder strap is nice and sturdy with decent quality buckles. The belt strap(I'm not sure anyone would risk hanging their 2-3 kg lenses to their belts without risking their pants falling off!) is fastened with velcro..which in my opinion would not hold the weight.BIGGEST PRO-My 200-500mm lens fits completely, even when covered in the nikon supplied black cover along with the lens hood kept on top (as shown in the picture) !Completely satisfied.Cons:Yet to find any.
