Q: is there'd cable or rope or something to wrap around your wrist when using?

There is a hole at the base of the unit for one, yes, but as others have said already you don't get a cable/rope in the box.

Q: Does it work well underwater?

I have dunked it into the sea from on a boat. It worked fine and did not fall apart afterwards!

Q: Does it have a remote button for taking photos?

Unfortunately no. You will need the newer wifi Remo or the former wifi Smart Remote which can be attached/worn like a watch thanks to the included Velcro strap. I use my El Grande with the a smart remote strapped onto the grip and it works well.

Q: Is anyone using this with GoPro max? I.e. can it hold the camera without angle dropping?

I bought this for my son so unable to answer your question. All I do know is he is very satisfied with this piece of kit.
