GourmetGold Tinned Cat Food Savoury Cake Tuna 85g, Pack of 12

When I gave 5 stars for flavour I had to judge by my cat's enthusiasm.....I did not taste it myself! My cat loves these Gourmet tins, apart from 2 flavours. The ones with sauce have plenty of the sauce. It is my cat's favourite part and he licks it all off quickly before tucking into the rest. He particularly likes the turkey in white sauce. This cake style has very little gravy but he still loves it. Other 'value' brands like Whiskers, Felix and supermarket own brands market themselves very well but they are usually about 8% protein and the Gourmet flavours tend to be about 11% protein. Perhaps this gives Gourmet a more 'meaty' flavour to explain my cat's enthusiasm. I gave it only 4 stars for value as it is expensive although savings can be made by buying in bulk, such as Amazon packets of 12 (with free delivery). Personally I don't mind paying for this as my cat eats every morsel, leaving an empty dish. He purrs when he smells it being prepared. With cheaper brands he just picks at the food and leaves a lot, so there is wastage, making them poor value. He also stares at me and wags his tail, making it clear that I have failed in my duties as a cat servant and I can't have that!

I bought this food at first for a young cat we adopted who had had a difficult start to life and had to have all but 4 of her teeth removed. This made eating difficult for her and she didn't like the usual pate food. She loved this however, has no trouble eating it and has now grown into a very healthy cat. My other cat is now quite elderly and has had stomach/pancreas problems, I therefore feed him mostly on a special urinary diet which he likes but I also give him a small amount of this ''cake' food every day for a treat, as he loves it. He gets a check up from the vet every month and has been showing excellent progress, weight stable and he is much more active than he used to be. This could, of course be due to the specialist food but his daily treat does not seem to be harming him and importantly he is not jealous of his 'sister'. The small tins make it easy to feed according to appetite and there is very little waste.

My cat won't eat it

Order arrived promptly. It was great when we couldn't get out BUT a mixed flavour selection would have been better and a couple of the tins were off.

As with all cats she went for this stuff like it was manna from heaven,then as usual she viewed it like dung beetle droppings,so leaving it a couple of days we were back to selling her soul for it.Most cat owners know this to be fairly typical and normal. She loves it when she loves it and hates it when she hates it but I like it ( not that I have sampled it you understand!) and it is a good product 😁

Our cat was going through a fussy phase so I bought these as a treat as they are more expensive than most cat food. I was surprised how much was in the tin as it looks quite small, but there is plenty inside. My cat devoured them, he is a tuna addict, I will certainly buy them again.

My cat used to like it but not anymore. Smells a bit off if it is left in bowl for few hours. Expensive.

This product is the best as my cat would only eat this cat food as she is fussy. Unfortunately she has now decided that she doesn’t want it and I’m wasting more food everyday! I would definitely recommend subscribing as I had no problem at all with the items, thankyou
