Hopeful that it would fit my camera Finepix SL1000
Unfortunately it doesn't, as my camera has it's own 'Pop up' flash, which is fine for short distance. My large flash gun needs the Sync socket so without one built in I hoped this would help, unfortunately the internal pop up will not fully deploy so will not allow the connetion and flash to opperate. I will have to make a modification.

But it's a cheap product and a great hack for cheap cameraes like my Canon Rebel t2i ...
I used it 2 times ( and worked fine) but then the wire inside the adaptor disconnected. I had to take it apart so solder it back together (that was easy). But it's a cheap product and a great hack for cheap cameraes like my Canon Rebel t2i / 550D.

Cable not captive
The shoe worked as my new camera has not got a separate cable connector. The one on the side works, but does not have a screw thread for the captive nut. The problem is that coil cable can put a strain on the cable and pull it out.
