Bought this after reading many reviews all over Amazon and finally decided to buy this one. I am happy with my purchase I weighted myself at the gym where they have really advanced scales, and when I tried this one it showed the exact same number.They come with different settings so you can set it up the way you want, as well as a ready battery to use that was covered with plastic before usage. They also come with measuring tape which I think is quite nice of the company.It was well packaged and I love the small box that you can keep the measuring tape on.Highly recommend if you're confused which scale to buy.

Had a problem with the accuracy, but Etekcity talked me through possible fixes. When that didn't work they sent me a replacement without any messing around. Excellent service - and the replacement seems to work perfectly. I only wish more companies treated their customers so well. Great product. Great support. A great buy.

After giving a negative review initially, I was sent a message telling me that I had to calibrate the scales each be I use them, if storing them upright. I was offered a full refund if the calibration did not work, but since doing this, the scales have been far more accurate.

I decided to go for this scale after seeing its simplicity, good reviews and of course, its attractive design. I've had enough of mechanical scales where the pointer hand always shifts out of place, or there's always a degree of uncertainty depending on the angle at which you are looking down. Hence I converted to digital as I needed to shed some pounds and therefore needed a reliable scale.This scale does what a scale should do - clearly and objectively tells me how much I weigh in my chosen unit. I knew scales in today's day and age offered much more than this but I merely wanted something with simplicity written all over it. With a scale that has fantastic reviews and supplied with free batteries and abother spare set of batteries it was a no brainer.Pros:- Attractive and elegant design (looks better than in the photos). Very sleek and slim and weighty.- Reliable measurement (I sometimes weigh myself thrice and always get the same reading)- Very simple to use - no power button; just stand and it automatically begins to weigh.-display screen lights up can weight yourself even in dim lighting.- Supplied with batteries and comes with a free spare set!

Terrible ... it was pointless weighing yourself as these scales cannot record accurately! One day I weighed myself and a did the same a couple of hours later and found I had apparently lost two stone ... I was working out but not enough to warranty a two stone difference in a few hours! I returned item and purchased ‘normal’, Salter Mechanical Bathroom Scales which work perfectly, unlike these ‘fancy’ electronic ones!

These scales arrived very quickly due to the prime membership. Was a bit concerned with the packaging which I thought was a tad lax due to the sensitivity of the item. I was worried about the accuracy as I have owned a digital scale before and it was wildly inaccurate. As soon as these arrived I unpacked them and tested them by going to the cupboard where I keep my weight lifting gear, blew the dust off and selected two 2½ kilo weights. The scales read them as 5 kilos, perfect!

I was initially fairly impressed by the design, quality and consistency of these scales, but after about a year (literally immediately after the guarantee expired) they turned into something of a random number generator. Well, not quite, but calibrating, getting a reading, then stepping off for a few moments (keeping the scale in exactly the same place), recalibrating and stepping back on (and repeating this several times) resulted in readings which differed by up to 3 kg - enough to make them all but useless in my book. I replaced the batteries, thinking maybe that was it, but it made no difference. It is environmentally irresponsible to make a product which ends up in a landfill after just one year (my local recycling does not accept this item for recycling), necessitating the purchase of a new product, although it is clearly good for the consistency of the company's annual profits. I am purchasing another brand of scales to replace these ones and hope for better luck. It could be quite illuminating if other reviewers could update their reviews after a year's time to enable prospective purchasers to gain a view of how widespread this failure-after-a-year phenomenon is.

It seems to fluctuate wildly. The second time I weighed myself on this machine after purchase, only a day later, I had apparently put on 3lbs and then the next day had lost 4lbs. The only reason its not one star is because it is aesthetically pleasing and the options to change the unit of measurement is a nice feature.EDIT - I have to edit this entire review, after sending an email to Etekcity, they promptly replied and told me"Our scale has a feature called "auto-on" which allows users to just step on and weigh without first calibrating the scale. If you keep your scale stored away instead of in the same place, that feature won't work correctly. The scale calibrates itself upon turning off, so if it's then moved into a cabinet for example, then the weight of the scale itself may not be properly accounted for contributing to a perceived swing in weight by up to 4-8 pounds.If you have to move it, which is totally fine, just place it where you want it to go and turn it on, step on the scale then step off and wait for the LCD screen to display "0.0".Step back on the scale to weigh with accurate results. When ‘0.0’ is displayed, the scale is calibrated successfully and you will be able to weigh with accurate results."Following this advice the scales began to work perfectly.All Kudos to Etekcity
