Very firm, safe, holding up well
Pros:Definitely firm and safe, fits well in a crib without gaps.Quality made, springs. I expect this to last. My now 20 month old hasn't made a dent in it. She stands up in her crib on it, without it visibly worse for the wear.Good family company and name with long safety and quality history.Cons:Because it is a spring mattress, it is relatively heavy. Probably not much different than any spring mattress. Also because it is spring and firm, it doesn't bend when you are trying to get it out of the crib to change sheets. That probably means it is safer, though.I personally don't like the vinyl-like cover, though good for wipe ups etc. I feel the need to use a mattress pad for comfort and warmth.(But I would use one anyway on a fabric mattress for protection so not a big deal). No toddler side. Now that my toddler has tasted the sweet softness of our bed, it's a hard sell to get her back in there. Had to put a fleece blanket under her fitted sheet for a little more quilting/softness.No regrets on buying this, would definitely buy Colgate again, might look for a toddler side.

Attention Daddy: This is "The One"
Not too soft, not too firm, just right. Baby sleeps great on it.As first time parents, my wife stressed pretty hardcore about what crib mattress to buy. The $600 crib mattress made of 100% organic fibers harvested from Himalayan sheep, with pictures of the actual sheep included and a notarized letter signed by the shepherd?Or, alternatively, the $50 Wally-World special? According to "all the mommy blogs" these cheap crib mattresses are pretty much guaranteed to result in colic, bad sleep, abnormal feedings, cancer, childhood obesity, and a plethora of other sundry childhood maladies.Gone are the days of sleeping on a roll out yoga mat that smells like a 24 pack of Sharpies with the caps off every time you lay down on it (AKA, my childhood).Anyway, to the product at hand. If you are reading this, look no further. You found it. This mattress strikes the right balance between quality and affordability. You can lay your child down on this quality mattress knowing that you were neither a fool nor a cheapskate. It is made of quality materials, certified by all the right government agencies (for what it's worth, Libertarians unite! haha). Mom is happy, baby is happy, I'm happy. What more could you want? Nothing.(P.S. - Please do not take my sarcasm about mattress prices to mean I don't care about our daughter. I love her dearly. My sarcasm is directed toward the "power" of fear and mommy-shaming wielded by forum members on mommy blogs.)

Good mattress, a bit hard
I scoured the internet for many many hours to find the "perfect" mattress for my son's new toddler bed. I looked at lists for the best toddler bed mattresses and articles on how to pick out a mattress for toddlers. After taking in that information and weighing price options I picked this mattress. It seemed to have everything that was neccessary and it was relatively affordable. My son seems to like it and has actually spent a few nights on it (he's used to sleeping with us, so we're in transition). My only complaint is that it feels really hard. So far, it doesn't seem to bother him but it may as he gets older. Then again, I guess it's all in what you are used to. I would definitely buy this mattress again, especially for a crib. I may reconsider if I were looking again for a toddler. There is a mattress that is harder on one side for babies and softer on the other for toddlers, which I may consider in place of that. But again, it seems great. It fits the bed perfectly, and, so far, my son likes it.

Awesome, but runs thick and wide
I bought this when my baby was four months to replace my Safety 1st cheapo mattress that my third baby was forced to sleep on after my second dented it in the middle. Very happy. I agonized over the decision because I wanted a spring mattress that didn't bounce, this is perfect. It feels firm but gives and I am sure a toddler or even 4,5 year old would be happy sleeping on it. No nasty chemical smells either. One star off because it runs big which is great for safety but means I can't use half the sheets I have and also have to take it out the crib every time I want to change the sheets. Small price to pay to know baby is sleeping safe and comfy.

Great Mattress
I wanted an eco friendly mattress and found Colgate (yay Made in USA!). I had a difficult time deciding between an innerspring or foam model. We love foam mattresses for ourselves and I liked the idea that it's lighter weight for changing sheets, but I was concerned about how well it would hold up to a rambunctious toddler. The innerspring model is great, a little heavy, but I believe it will be much more durable long-term.Our crib is from Land of Nod (Crate and Kids now), and the mattress fits perfectly. We also bought an organic bamboo mattress cover and it has completely protected the mattress.

Nice Mattress
We bought this mattress because its dimensions were recommended for the crib we purchased from PBK. It fits nice and snug for our particular crib. It's a very firm mattress - much more firm than most of those we found in retail stores. Overall, we're very happy with our purchase. Our little guy has had no problems sleeping on it - we can go from his play yard to his crib without issues. The mattress isn't exactly light weight, but for the firmness and overall quality of the product, we don't mind and found it worth the investment. For anyone purchasing a crib mattress, be sure to measure the inside of your crib to make sure the mattress you purchase will fit nice and snug. We didn't realize it until we bought our crib, but there are slight variations in the dimensions of crib mattresses (there is a minimum size, but some run a little bigger). We actually double checked the dimensions of this mattress on the manufacturer's website to make sure we had the right size.Regarding service from Amazon.com, the first order we placed for this mattress was actually lost in transit, but Amazon made it right and shipped us another one immediately, so no complaints on service.

DO NOT BUY
This is from a 3rd party seller, the mattress is very firm and returning is a nightmare! Do yourself a favor and find a different mattress!
