Is this good for a metal door? Apartment door

I would say no, it needs to be drilled/screwed into a solid door. That is why I had to return it, our closet doors are hollow. I would assume a metal door is also hollow, or at least tough to drive a screw into.

Would this work to stop or slow down a door swinging saloon style door? One door will be locked stationary, while the other will be the main gate.

Probably would work but the swing door may bounce slightly when the magnets pass each other.

The product details says they are silver but in the photo they are black. Which is it?

Mine are black. Not sure what the other sellers are.
