Good enough . . .
It fills my need . . .mostly. I wanted a smaller bookcase for my cookbooks. I already have almost 100 linear ft of bookshelves in my home for various craft books and a few novels. I needed to separate these out so I didn't have to hunt for them. Initially, I thought I would be able to use all 3 shelves for books. Somewhat right but not what I thought. I had to put the shelves about 4" apart across the middle in order to be able to stand books upright on the bottom & top shelves. I am using the narrow space to lay down all my pamphlet-style recipe books. The regular cookbooks fit just fine on the other 2 sections. If you are looking for something to stand books up on all 3 shelves, please consider something else. Just not possible with this product unless you have VERY short books. If you're using it to display stuff, it would be great for that.HINT: for those of you who dislike the all too common cardboard backings, you can go to a big box home improvement store and ask for luan door panels. They are thin wood panels (used to repair damaged doors) that they will cut to your measurements. Easily painted or stained and much stiffer than the cardboard. I've replaced backings on a number of pieces of furniture, some very old with damaged backs and some I wanted a stiffer back than the cardboard provided.

Perfect for me
They were inexpensive and easy to put together and look great. Worked out perfectly for me!

Great except weak (bending) shelves
Bought this for a house of four math majors with a ton of textbooks. The size is perfect, very tall with lots of shelf space. It was easy to assemble (and fun for people like me who enjoy ikea-style assembly projects). My only complaint is that the adjustable shelves appeared to be drooping with the weight of the textbooks, so we had to remove many of the books and put them on the two immobile shelves (bottom and middle). So I loved almost everything about this bookshelf, just wish the shelves were more substantial.

Not Quality Even for a Cheap Bookcase
I knew this wasn't going to be a quality bookcase, but honestly, this can't get much worse. The manufacturer cheaped out on the laminate. It doesn't cover the underside of the shelves and is hardly big enough to nail onto the back to make the backing. Plus, it the backing laminate was bent slightly in the packaging and it's pretty obvious, even nailed with extra nails to the bookcase. It smells terribly of chemicals, which being particle board makes sense, except that it's been a week and the bookcase still stinks up the room. Finally, the bookshelf only comes with five shelves, which just so you know, means you need to have some pretty darn tall books to make use of two of the shelves. All that said, since it's not real wood, it is very easy for me to move as a small 115# woman.

Not recommended
Yes, you get what you pay for! The material is cheap - the bottom shelf has not been painted white - but the most infuriating thing is that three dowels; one shelf support and two confirmation caps were missing. This is shoddy in the extreme. I do not recommend

Hard to find size and does the job
It's hard to find a wide shelf size that isn't too tall to fit under a window, so I'm pleased. I like the adjustable shelf heights, and it seems sturdy enough. Nothing fancy, but does the job of looking clean and organized and holding my stuff in my home office. It was super easy to put together.

Material was fine, predrilled holes made it bad.
My wife and I wanted a cheap bookcase that we could use for a few years and then dispose of when it wore out. We weren't looking for (or expecting to receive) a fine piece of furniture. The general quality of the materials was as I expect– inexpensive but fit for the job. There were some chips, but nothing that we minded. The quality of the predrilled holes, though, was pretty poor. Nothing lined up well, particularly around the top. This is a short bookcase that you see the top of, so it was disappointing to get it out of the box and assemble it only to discover how poorly the edges come together. The bad alignment was also different on both sides (see pics) so the complete effect was pretty unsymmetrical. I'd try another seller.

The quality of this bookcase is horrible compared to the closet maid cubicle
I ordered this as well as a closet maid cubicle. They were about the same price. The quality of this bookcase is horrible compared to the closet maid cubicle. It has sharp corners, the laminate is already starting to peel up a bit, the screw covers are already falling off, the underneath of the shelves are unfinished, the shelves just rest on dowels so are no secure and easily fall. Unfortunately, I asked my husband to put the shelves together so I didn't realize what a disaster this was until it was too late to return it.
