Locking Gas Cap W/2 Keys, Lock Fuel Cap, Replace#10504 77300-47020

This item works great I don't have to worry about anyone still in my gas or putting something in my tank. However it is kind of hard to get the key in sometimes.

I put this "Zonfant" locking gas cap on my diesel fuel tank for my 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup truck (which did not have a locking lid or cap from the factory) and locked it. Then when I went to get fuel it would not unlock so I had to leave the gas station with a near empty tank, go to my warehouse and pry it off with a large pliers used for removing oil filters. And it broke apart during the prying. I had previously oiled the key hole to make the key turn counterclockwise but it would not do so. Then I had to make a return trip to the gas station to get the fuel I needed. I wanted to return the locking gas cap but Amazon tells me the time to return it has run out. They gave me 30 days from the time I received it. As it happened I took a trip to Texas for 10 days and did not have time to run out my gas tank on my pickup truck as I have a Toyota Camry and a Dodge Ram Van that I drive as well. All of these cars are registered with Amazon so that when I buy parts for my autos they can tell me if they won't work. I would not rate the locking gas cap as a good one even if it did work right. Why? Because it breaks apart real easy when using pliers to get it off. Anybody could break it off to do exactly what I don't want to happen: pouring something harmful into the gas tank.

The locking mechanism takes a bit to adjust to and get the hang of, but that could just be because I've never had a locking cap before. The gas cap fits mostly fine, however, the hatch stays slightly open so it's no longer flush with the van. It's not that big of a deal to me, so not worth returning and getting another one. But it might be an issue for another, so I felt it worth mentioning. Purchased for a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country.

Ordered for my car. Works great.

It works. I have a hard time getting off it works so good. I do have to make my boyfriend help me occasionally when trying to get gas. My best advice is to go slow with it.

Defective. Key wouldn't work to unlock it.

I have read a lot of bad reviews on this particular gas cap. I have to say people can't read, This product works perfect if it's used properly. I'm happy with it, and I don't have Crackpots trying to suck gas out of my tank. Again great product if used correctly.
