Salter Professional EK5245 Mixologist Glass Jug Blender with Cocktail Making SetThis is not just a blender, this particular model has been designed with cocktail making in mind. To be honest, I'm sure what that means is that this is a standard Salter professional model jug blender with a cocktail making kit added. The word professional I think is a little misleading, the instructions tell you to only use for 60 seconds then allow to rest for 3 minutes before the next use, I doubt this would be acceptable in a working kitchen.It's good to see this blender is supplied with a glass jug, I've never been keen on plastic jugs as I'm always nervous that they may crack or break. The glass jug on this is heavy duty and would probably survive a lot of kitchen abuse. The blender base has a powerful 800 watt motor which has 2 speeds available, along with pulse which is achieved by jogging the power dial back and forth. The large round lid pushes on, a rubber seal holds the lid in place and prevents leaks. The centre of the lid is removable for adding liquids without having to remove the whole lid. Sadly there is nothing supplied for pushing down food that may become stuck to the sides of the jug.Overall this appears well made and is up to the quality that you would expect from a company like Salter. Although not what I would call a professional model, this does seem a little more powerful than other similar blenders that I've had. This model has the advantage of having the cocktail making set included which is made completely from easy clean stainless steel. At the end of the day, this is well made and does what it's made for with ease. Poor quality. Had to return this item as the control function was broken on arrival.

The machine worked well for what we wanted. However within 24 hours of careful use the clip holding the lid on snapped off. Now we have to hold the lid on manually every time we use it.

Came on time and looks impressive

The media could not be loaded.  I’m really impressed with this blender. It makes light work of crushing the ice which does really make for a really lovely blended cocktail. It is fairly straightforward to use but it is essential the lid is on properly for the blender to work. The instructions for use are really easy to follow along with the ideas for making cocktails. This is another kitchen gadget that I know I will get lots of use out of.

Bad quality..used it 4 times only and its no longer blending

We love making cocktails at home and going out for cocktails, so were keen to try this Salter Professional EK5245 cocktail blender.The blender itself comes with additional accessories, such as a cocktail shaker, strainer and jigger - this really is an affordable, complete cocktail kit which will allow you to make a variety of drinks at home with ease.The blender is incredibly high quality, it feels well-made and robust - it has two inbuilt speeds which are ideal for crushing ice and frozen fruits easily. We've been making some frozen drinks so the durable blades were exactly what we needed; we've noticed that using pre-crushed ice will make some really smooth 'slush' inspired drinks!The blender comes with instructions which are easy to read/understand - and a cocktail receipt booklet which contains a few recipes for you to follow.The blender is easy to clean and maintain - the jug can go through the dishwasher allowing for thorough cleaning between uses.Based on my experience using this product, I would highly recommend it!

When using the first blender to make Daquiris the the drive cog for the blade attachment virtually disintegrated. We received the replacement blender, only for exactly the same thing to happen again....however the entire blade attachment fell apart.
