IntermaticOutdoor Timer

It was a bit difficult to find this exact timer for my outdoor landscape lighting system, but I did find it at Amazon.com. It was priced very competitively and arrived as promised within just a couple of days. The timer is working perfectly and hopefully will continue to do so for a long time to come.

This is the best outdoor timer that I've found. It's the second Intermatic outdoor timer that I've owned. The first one wore out after about 5 years when the mode selector switch became intermittent. The new one works very well. I use it to automatically turn on lights inside the house when I'm not home and to turn on outside Christmas lights at night during the holiday season. It's rugged and has enough time selections to meet my needs. The most fragile part on it is the round time selector switch that will eventually wear out like my first one did. I haven't taken the old one apart to see what kind of switch is being used, but they might be able to use a more rugged one and make the timer last longer. Typically, the switch becomes intermittent at the setting that you use the most. I think they could redesign it with a single more rugged momentary contact toggle switch and individual LEDs to indicate which setting has been selected. That might also reduce the cost. I don't have a major problem with the design of this one - just a suggestion for how it could be made better.

I used it on a bug zapper and it works great. I bought one 6 years ago for another zapper and it's still working.

Excellent design and usually reliable company. This product is not a good outdoor timer. After about a month it quit working due to rain. It filled with water. How in the world this could be called an outdoor timer is beyond me. I was very disappointed.

I had this timer on outdoor lights and bug zappers and it has worked great for several years. Easy to use and reliable. Use one on my RV when we are camping.
