Very Nice, Smooth
This is a very effective travel shaver. Very small in size, almost too small if you have large hands. It gives a smooth, clean shave. I also have a tri-head Norelco shaver, and this Panasonic beats it every time in giving a smooth shave. It doesn't have a clipper though, so it's not good if you skip too many days and don't shave. It uses 2 AA batteries for power, which are on sale virtually everywhere. I do advise using regular 1.5v alkaline batteries, or if you use rechargeables, get the 1.5v lithium-ion type and not the 1.2v NiMH type - you need that extra voltage for clean cuts and not ripping out your whiskers. It's amazing this reasonably priced shaver does so much better than others costing way more.

Size Doesn't Matter
I have been using the Panasonic Twin-X exclusively for about 10 years. Most people would consider it a travel shaver but don't let the size fool you. It can do the job on a daily basis. I did the ultra-expensive electric razors only to be disappointed by their shave and lifespan. The Panasonic Twin-X is both a wet and dry shaver in a neat compact size. I have used the same razor for over a decade without signs of it stopping anytime soon. The shave is excellent, cleaning a breeze, and replacement foils are relatively inexpensive. I only have to replace the batteries every two months with daily use. I like this particular model so much that I recently bought a brand new one as a spare in the event my current one finally quits working.

A good shaver when used WET, average dry
2024 The razor has held up over 2 years well with an open, rinse, and dry after each shave. The trick to a smoother shave is face cleaner, shaver cream, or something that allows the head to glide over the skin. Lather up even just a little bit, and the shave is smooth. Dry shave is ok, but just a touch longer stubble. A disposable razor might be needed for the occasional hard to get patch like the corner of the chin, but usually not needed. Never going to be as smooth as a nice razor, but been saving lots of money not needing to replace blades over the past 2 years.Wet shaver in the morning and you can feel stubble by 6pm. Razor, can go a few hours longer.Cleaning between the blades - use soapy something with a new toothbrush to get between them to keep it clean.AA Ni-Mh rechargeables work well. Eliminates buying AA batteries. Charging them once month or two.It won't cut anything longer than 2, 3 mm - use a razor then.Waterproof works. Shaving in shower, rinsing unit, etc. Just make sure battery compartment gasket is clean.2022 I had a single blade travel shaver long ago from Narita airport that is much like the other mini Panasonic, and that one worked well dry. This twin blade travel shaver doesn't do much dry for me, so keep that in mind. Doesn't glide well, doesn't cut much dry. It's only when I lather up and use this wet does it glide over the skin and cut decently well.To cut well, you'll want to go back and forth, then rotate 45 degrees and go over the area again because some hairs only catch in certain directions.Obviously, it's not their top end shavers, so you'll feel the skin isn't baby bottom smooth like after using a manual razor blade like a Mach 3. You will feel minor skin bumpines in certain areas, but it doesn't feel like stubble, so acceptable for me switching to electric to cut down on razor blade costs. On the flip side, it doesn't cut the skin anywhere as easily as the single blade I had, so that's a bonus.DEFINITELY not for longer days old growth because the hairs just won't go past the foil to be cut. 1-2 day old stubble is the target for this shaver.Vibration is low vs the single blade I had, noise can be heard past just the bathroom door, but not outside the master bedroom door. Not annoying for the few minutes of use.Head is easy to pop off with the side button in blue. You need to train yourself not to touch the gray buttons that let you swap foils.Easy to rinse out.Runs fine on rechargeable nimh AAs.Photo of the chin shows what's visible after. You can see the ends of the cut hair, but feels ok.2 photos above the lips. One when the skin is stretched - you can see the cut ends, and one normal - decent appearance.

great $30 shaver
I received this shaver today. Slapped on some Williams Lectric Pre-Shave lotion and gave it a try. I had a 48 hour growth and my beard is about average ... not heavy and not light. Overall a pretty good shave. Good enough for my intended use which is to pack in my baggage for vacation trips. Would I use it for daily shaving ... no. But for $30 and to use for travel ... not bad. I think some people expect the same shave you get from a $200+ razor ... if that's your expectation then spend the big bucks. If you want something that will keep you from looking like a bum for a couple weeks then this shaver will do the job. BTW ... I purchase the Hermitshell case Inner Size: 4.7*2.5*1.4 inch ... great fit and it's only $10.99

Very pleased - except......
I purchased this for an upcoming trip to Europe. It is compact and light. I have used it daily for 17 days on the first pair of AA alkaline batteries and they show no signs of fading, However, battery voltage indicates that they are nearing the end of their useful life. I feel that it shaves as close as my Braun series 7. However, it will not pick up and cut the longer hairs that grow close to the skin. I have to revert to tweezers or my Braun for those. So overall I have been very pleased except for the inability to cut those long hairs growing close to the skin. I have no regrets for purchasing this shaver.

good until dead
Ergonomic shape and better than other portables. But it’s dead at 18 months. Was used only on travels 2-3xThis is my experience with all small portables, whether battery or rechargeable.

Bad to your skin, too many skin cuts
I tried this one thinking it was an upgrade to the great ES-RS1 models, but no. First shave, I ended up with a bloody face. Second shave, the same. Third shave, still skin burns.I think ES-RS1 model is a better and cheaper option, which I have used dozens of times without the issues I get with this model.
