THIS BOOK😩💙
I’m on my third read of this and I cannot get enough. I still get giddy and smile at the things Garrett says to Jennie. This has me laughing and kicking my feet at times.Who doesn’t love a little forbidden romance?? and don’t get me started on the smut!!🥵Jennie is the kind of person you want as a friend. She’s kind and sassy. She’s been hurt and yet still finds it in her to trust others. I’ve never connected with a character the way I do with Jennie. Garrett’s nickname for his is perfect☀️Garrett is funny and so sweet. We love a man who isn’t jealous of a few toys😉 The way he respected Jennie’s boundaries, never pushing her makes me love him even more. The has become my favorite book. I know I’ll come back to it again and again. I loved the first one but this book is perfection🤌🏻

Mack is exceptional yet again!
All hail Beck Mack, Queen of Hockey Romances, Witty Chapter Titles, and Soft-Top Book Boyfriends. And she’s back folks, gracing us with the second book in the Playing For Keeps series: Play With Me.We follow Jennie Beckett as she falls into an unexpected friends with benefits situation with Garrett Andersen. Jennie is the little sister of Carter, the over-the-top, golden retriever hockey captain from book 1, Consider Me. She’s faced with the very raw and real feelings of being in the shadow of her superstar brother and she’s constantly questioning if the people in her life are a result of her relation to Carter. Meanwhile, Garrett is the Viper’s star right-winger who always manages to find himself tongue-tied around his bff’s captivating little sister and knows it’s in the best interest of his sanity and safety to stay away. And yet, once they become neighbors, Jennie and Garrett find that these obstacles can’t stop their sizzling chemistry. If you are on the hunt for a hilarious rom-com filled with tons of Found Family moments and delectable spicy scenes, then be ready to move this book to the top of your TBR. Mack crafts laugh-out-loud dialogue that she balances with honest and emotional character growth. And don’t get me started on how swoon-worthy Garrett is in the bedroom. This man may be a total cinnamon roll in his daily life, but behind closed doors, he is a dominant king who sees toys as his pleasure allies and is able to empower Jennie’s boundaries without question. But my biggest obsession with this book is that we get the honor and the pleasure of witnessing Jennie and Garrett not only fall in love but also build an unshakeable friendship. In fact, all of the found family friendships in this book are a testament to Mack’s talent for bringing dynamic characters to life. Come for even more Carter shenanigans and Hank wisdom, stay for Jennie and Garrett's perfection, and stay tuned for my baby Adam’s story…

Hot & Sexy Hockey Romance
Play with Me by Becca MackWhat you’ll get :🤍 friends with benefits🤍 brothers best friend🤍 both FMC & MMC are athletes🤍 Steam with toys🤍 hockey romance🫶🏻 Garrett & Jennie 🫶🏻I LOVE friends with benefits and brothers best friend tropes so having these two tropes intertwined is the best thing ever. As we know Garrett isn’t the girlfriend type, but seeing that all his friends are starting to settle down, he might want that too. When he starts noticing how attracted he is to Jennie (his best friend and teammates sister) he wants her bad. But Jennie has been through some traumatic/ toxic relationships in her past and makes her weary of dating or being in an physical relationship again. They somehow end up in a friends with benefits situation, and what started out as flirting and a whole lot of sexual tension, these two end up having a really beautiful/ fun friendship. They begin to really trust one another in all aspects of their lives and end up inevitably falling for one another. But since Carter is Jennie’s older brother, she’s completely off limits to EVERYONE, and it causes Garrett & Jennie to have to sneak behind his back. 👀I just loved this book so much. The sexual tension between these two was 🙌🏻🔥 hotttt. Their friendship made me swoon. I think what did it for me was that Jennie had been so deeply hurt in her past, and really didn’t trust anyone with her heart or her body, and Garrett completely respected her boundaries and earned her trust, and I just loved that. You really see their friendship blossom through their ups and downs and it made me swoon. The steam is *chefs kiss* made me fan myself 🔥Oh and this book is thickkkkk. I read it and listened to the audio, it took me a good 2 months to really finish it. But I don’t mind a long book if the plot keeps me intrigued until the end. Oh and I also loved that Jennie is a dancer, anytime the FMC is an athlete in some capacity, I love her even more 🫶🏻Im giving this bad boy a 5/5 ⭐️This book has explicit steamy scenes🔥

Absolutely loved, will never stop recommending!!
This was my second reread and I loved it just as much as the first. From the way Jennie and Garrett switch who is the bumbling mess and who’s the confident one to the things they discover about themselves, it’s a connection on such a deep level. I loved seeing this side of both of them, especially watching Jennie slowly come out of her shell and realize who she always was, and showing that person to Garrett - who accepts all of her unconditionally. They both learned the best way to work through their problems together without holding grudges or punishing the other person, and it was really pure to see.Plus, I really enjoyed the continuation of Ollie and Carter’s relationship throughout the book. It’s one thing for cameos but I feel like all the characters were as integral a part of this story as they would’ve been IRL, and it made the story deeper and more enjoyable overall.I can’t wait to dive right into the next!!

More laugh out loud moments and Viper shenanigans
Play With Me is the second book in the Playing For Keeps series and it follows Garrett Andersen, an NHL hockey player for the Vancouver Vipers, teammate and best friend to Carter Beckett(from book 1 Consider Me) and Jennie Beckett, a dancer and Carter’s younger sister. Garrett has been secretly into Jennie but seeing as she is his best friends sister, she is off limits. When she moves into his building, though, they start a friends with benefits deal but it turns into so much more.As with Consider Me, we get tonnes of laugh out loud moments, sweet and swoon worthy scenes and some of the best spicy situations. Garrett has this cute shyness about him that was so endearing I just wanted to squeeze him but in the bedroom, HOLY LORD his mouth had me sweating. The way he earns Jennie’s trust is a testament to just how patient and willing he is to make sure she is okay with everything going on. I love that he wasn’t afraid to trust her either. Every word he says to her is filled with compassion and understanding and encouragement for her to be her most authentic self. He pushes her to see that she is more than just Carter’s sister.Jennie really had me from day the first page. She is strong willed and determined and doesn’t take crap from anyone. But at the same time she still has this fear of loneliness and has a hard time trusting people to be there for her. As with Ollie in Consider Me, I found myself relating to Jennie as well. Finding true and meaningful friendships can be difficult. You start to second guess yourself and wonder if not making these connections means there is something wrong with you. Slowly, she begins to see that Garrett truly is her best friend and that the people around her care so deeply about her and not just because of Carter.Becka’s writing has a way of pulling you so far into this characters lives that when you finish reading, your heart doesn’t realize that they are fictional and it feels like you are losing family when it’s over. Are these books hilarious and cute and fun? Absolutely. However, they are emotional and healing and I shed numerous amount of tears that I didn’t expect to. Yes they are hockey romances but, also, so so so much more than that and I will be forever grateful for them.

The best Friends to Lovers romance I ever read 🤍
This book was impossible to put down! Incredible from start to finish. Garrett is in my top 5 book boyfriends of all time & Jennie??? UGH such a good FMC. I loved Consider Me, but Play With Me is unstoppable. This book had all of the seriousness that made me fall hard for these characters.Garrett Anderson is a pro hockey player, and Jennie Beckett is a dancer who’s also the sister of the Captain of the Vancouver Vipers – Carter Beckett. They have known each other for a while now – the way he was always nervous and flustered around her every time was so endearing. When she moves into his building, they start a friends-with- benefits arrangement and they discover that there is a connection they just can’t ignore.Jennie Beckett is a bold and loving girl with a sensitive side. While she’s surrounded by people that love her, she can’t help but wonder if they truly care and know about her – or if they just love her because of her famous brother.Garrett Anderson – This man was perfect from start to finish. He is truly for the “words of affirmation” girlies with action to back it up, and I will not argue about it. The way he cares and loves for Jennie is seriously unmatched. Also, he dances with her and calls her “sunshine” - “I’m gonna light up your entire sky, the same way you do mine.” He is perfection!Overall this book made me love the Friends to Lovers Trope. I usually don’t like this trope all too much but this book was beautifully written and I fell in love. Garrett & Jennie growing into each other’s best friend first was so heartwarming. The way he didn’t care if Carter was her brother – because he became friends with her and then fell head over heels for her. Especially the Brother’s Best Friend element had so much more depth and complexity than I ever expected. Moreover, the cameos & ongoing found family vibes in this series were everything. Miss Becka Mack always delivers in her books that have so much heart and make you laugh out loud – I can’t wait to read more from her. I loved everything about this book.I am so ready for Adam’s story!!

Becka Mack can do no wrong
I loved how we saw the full circle of Garrett and Jennie's relationship, we had a full strangers to friends to friends-with-benefits to lovers to sort of somewhere in between again to lovers again, a full range of everything and it was beautiful. I loved Garrett not putting any pressure on Jennie to open up about why she didn't want to have sex, even if he broached it he'd shut it down as soon as she didn't respond and once she was ready to tell him he was the most supportive boyfriend ever and I adored him. Just sitting and rubbing Jennie's back to make her feel better, bringing coffee and hot chocolate, taking her and bringing her from school when she was scared to drive in the snow are all reasons why he was the kindest best friend but when he learnt the handshake Jennie and her dad had always done to make her happy and retraced all the movers steps to find Princess Bubblegum? Garrett is the best, and he punched Simon which was well overdue.Garrett's feelings on everything made me fall for him, seeing his father's alcohol journey and how he felt guilty because a drunk driver killed Carter and Jennie's dad so he felt guilty talking about it to Jennie hurt my heart. He's not only the best friend but him immediately jumping on a flight back home to make sure his sisters were okay because they'd rung him scared.I'm not sure if I'd called Garrett luck or unfortunate, surely getting twatted with a dildo called Indiana Bones once is bad enough and mortifying enough for one life time, but Garrett was lucky enough to face such a foe twice although he'd become quite familiar with Indy and his drawer companions by this point. (Sidenote, I appreciate books that so openly mention toys, some people think it's so taboo and shameful)I loved all the hockey boys and girls being involved as always, Carter's blind panics over fatherhood, stressful situations and the chances of his 5 foot 1 wife murdering him before he met his unborn child had me in stitches. Watching all the girls hang out when they couldn't make games, with Cara and Jennie shouting many colourful insults at the refs.I loved Chapter 11, I lost track of how many times the POV swapped but seeing how both parties were handling the situation was so good to read

Phenomenal hockey romance!!
✨ “Just looking at you. Sometimes I can’t believe you exist.” ✨Play with Me⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️✔️ forbidden, brothers best friend and teammate✔️ secret friends with benefits✔️ cinnamon roll mmc✔️ forced proximity✔️ hilarious afGarrett and Jennie are damn great together. This book had be absolutely cackling! But also, this was spicy? Yes, please 😍God, where to start. Play with Me holds a special place in my heart. I adored the banter, and tension, but I loved the character development, the flaws, the insecurities, the emotions.Play With Me, and Garrett, captured my heart 🤍“I know your walls are there for a reason. All I ask is that every once in a while you let me in and show me around.”On a more personal reading note, I related so hard to Jennie. The crossroads in her career. Her not wanting to be vulnerable. I get it. I felt so seen. And that’s one of the reasons this book has resonated with me so damn much.Everyone has their own unique story, history, experiences, but to have an author have a book that skilfully combines humour, sexual tension, banter, emotional vulnerability, and elements people can relate to? This is what I love most about reading.Becka, thank you — ily 🤍

Whatever Becka writes, I read
y’all i don’t even like blondes but here we arethis book had so many tropes i loved are you kidding me?? becka really had everything on the line with this one because she GAVEEEEEEE and devoured it like it was my last meal.-What is it with me and hockey players named Garrett? Is this a universal experience or is this just a me thing because two Garrett’s I’m in love with? I have to say though … Anderson > Graham and I am not sorry. This was SUCH an amazing brothers best friend book. Not only that but add hockey player into the mix? I’m in. Garrett’s such an amazing guy. He’s the one you call when you need something and he’s there in an instant. He’s protective of Jenny but not in a way that’s overbearing. On the outside Garrett might seem shy as hell but the minute you get him alone? The filth that comes out of his mouth is absolutely delicious and I eat it up every time. He was so incredibly patient and kind with Jennie and the friendship they built is what I definitely wish for. They were each others best friends before anything else and I think that means so much more than just having great sexual chemistry.Jennie’s past genuinely broke my heart. From the loss of her father to that piece of shit ex of hers that I will GLADLY RUN OVER REPEATEDLY WITH MY CAR to her god awful dance partner, she’s been through so much. She deserved to be loved and happy and that’s exactly what she got with Garrett. My guy literally asks her about her day while giving her an orgasm? Can it get better than that? This may be an unpopular opinion but I really loved Emily’s character. While she and Garrett may have hooked up a few times, they easily became friends afterwards and I love that she fully supported and wanted Garrett and Jennie to be together. And the little friendship she formed with Jennie?? LOVED. Like she broke Kevin’s nose for her?? I think I have a crush on her.“I think you’re my best friend. It would really hurt me to lose you.”“Best friends don’t lose each other, Jennie. I’ll be right here, always. I promise you that.”
