Instructions and Recommendation
Excellent radiator. Fit my 2000 Miata manual transmission with a little extra work. I used miata .net's instructions from the "garage section".From the old radiator you will need to keep the four rubber mounting bumpers that are at the top and bottom corners and put them on the new radiator. I did not remove the skirt from under the engine, no need. I took the fans out with the radiator as a set. Note the plastic tab on the AC wiring plug should be pushed UP to disconnect the plug and the main fan wiring plug tab needs to be pushed down. Go figure. I put the new radiator in with the main driver's side fan and put the passenger's side AC cooling fan in after the radiator went in.There are two flared *brass* tubes on the bottom. The picture above shows them as aluminum but they are brass which is fine if not an improvement. They are the supply and the return for an automatic transmission. I have a a manual transmission and they were turned up (easier to package?) and were in the way of the fans. The fittings were larger than a 18mm crows foot tubing wrench and smaller than a 22mm. I ended up using an adjustable wrench with no problems but BE CAREFUL as the aluminum cooling fins on the radiator want to deform. A heavy touch from a single finger can bend them so wrenching on the fittings caused a little angst. In the end there was no problem. There is a rubber cap for each tube but since I was rotating the fittings towards each other anyway I decided to remove the caps and use a piece of 3/8in vacuum tubing to deadhead the supply tube fitting to the return tube fitting, i.e. better than rubber caps.It is a 30 minute to one hour job.I did have a problem with shipping. According to UPS the first shipment ended up on a loading dock 800 miles away however this supplier did the best job BY FAR of any I've dealt with to give me options then quickly send a replacement. They did not dictate the process but said, "Please let us know" how you want to handle it and when I did, BAM!, it was done in a few hours and personally shipped by the person who answered my claim. They were much less expensive than my local parts stores, almost as quick and very courteous. I was truly impressed with them.

Works Great!
The radiator in my 2000 Miata had turned a brown/green color, which many have said means it's on it's way to failing....most likely at a very inopportune time while on the road someplace necessitating a tow.Since the car is 18 years old, I decided to change the two hoses connecting the radiator to the engine as well. If you're only changing the radiator, and not the hoses, it probably is indeed a 1 to 1-1/2 hour job. Since I was changing the upper and lower hose, I needed to remove the lower cowling that kind of hides the bottom of the radiator. This part of the job, while not hard to understand what you're trying to do, is ineed a pain in the axx. Most of the bolts you need to take out are very easy, but two in particular were very difficult to get to, one on each side that have a bracket that hold the fog lights to the body of the car. Not so terribly hard to get them off....but getting them back on is another story....lol. When you get there....you'll understand what I'm saying :-)All in all, basically an easy job, with a couple pain in the axx bolts. Took me a total of 2-3/4 hours, working at an easy/slow pace with a couple short interruptions. I'd say at least half of that itme was removing and reinstalling that freaking lower plastic cowling piece. Don't let that scare you away, just be aware that it will most likely test your patience when you get to that part.Have now used the car for a couple weeks with the new radiator and it's performing perfectly and is leak free. I'm happy!

Easy Install on 2001 Miata
The plastic upper portion of the radiator in my 2001 Miata had turned brown & I was informed that this is a reliable indicator that a leak could likely occur soon. Several posts on the Miata.net online forum recommended the TYC Radiator as a replacement. I reviewed a few YouTube videos for the installation procedure & despite my very limited car maintenance skills, I opted to do the work myself. It turned out to be a very manageable project which I completed in less than 2 hrs. The radiator fit flawlessly & there were no unexpected complications. It’s been less than 24 hrs. but so far the cooling system is functioning properly.

Fits a Miata with a 6spd manual transmission, despite the two brass fitting for automatics on the bottom.
perfect fit for a 2004 MX-5 Miata (NB) with a 6spd manual transmission. I shopped around for a radiator that didn't have the two brass fittings on the bottom (for automatic trans) but they do not get in the way when installing. I feared they'd get in the way of the cooling fans (shrouds) but fit like a glove. I ended up pointing the fittings facing each other and put a rubber hose on each end, clamping them down (like this: >>>-----------<<<<) to avoid any leaks or anything entering it. Replaced my OEM Denso/Mazda radiator due to a hairline crack on the top plastic part of the radiator. Noticed the plastic had turned a brownish colour than the dark black the rest of the radiator. OEM hoses fit like a glove and overall holding up very well. The only other radiator that seemed decent was a mishimoto, but this TYC works fine. Please note that this was not labeled, stamped, or indicated anywhere on the box, paperwork, or the radiator itself that it was a KOYO or KOYORAD. This is a straight up TYC brand.

Fits proper, bolts right up...needs improvement
Fit up and bolted in with no problem. The two 90° fittings on the bottom are harder to cap than they should be. They're fixed to the core and have male threads. My assumption is that this radiator is designed for automatic miatas, which arent exactly common. Including some caps would be cool. I saw a suggestion to put a hose between them and that worked for me.
