Good tank, heavy current for bettas
My betta often hides behind the filter. Not sure if he does it cause he likes it or because he wants to be out of the current because it makes it so difficult for him to swim (this might change he’s lived a rough life I just saved him and he might be stronger when he’s healthy). But anyway the tank- I expected bigger, I don’t know why since the picture compares it to an overly large fish so it seems small but I really did expect bigger but looking at it, it’s definitely 2.5 gallons I just wasn’t imagining accurately.I hope the current gets better, and i’ve only had it a few days so all of these filter issues I haven’t dealt with. the filter has zero sound and I mean it. I can’t sleep with any noise, not the fan or heater and everyone in the house must turn their tv off or I can’t sleep. I am so glad it has no sound at all. but the filter is sort of big nearly half the top opening is taken up by the filter. I have two snails and two ghost shrimp in a bowl who I had in for a day but I decided to take them out and give the betta a week or two to get back into good health since he’s used to being in a vase with rocks and tap water- no heater plants anywhere to hide the water was never changed and he was usually not fed. he has awful fin rot so I got this cause it was cheap and 2.5x the size of his vase and so for the first time he’s living in perfect betta conditions other than the tank could be bigger. good starter tank but I didn’t realize how much I would love dealing with a tank and a fish and I will most definitely upgrade when money comes around. if you have a betta, buy the $9.99 water heater. seriously they need it they’re tropical fish and it does affect them. Pretty easy set up, some instructions not so clear but nothing you can’t figure out. If my opinion changes and the filter acts up like everyone else claims then i’ll update it but I am not having those problems at all. I rested it new through amazon and it had no scratches like some said and it seems to be just as described. I only give 4/5 stars because the current is so harsh on my betta I will try to do something to fix it like put a plant in front of it once i clean it and rearrange the thing. but now seeing this, I want a ten gallon tank. small is fun for like a small desk or a night stand but it’s the only thing on a big dresser and it looks funny

Pretty good, but be mindful of maintenance.
I've had a few of these for a little over a year, and overall I like them for the price point. However, some things about the built-in pump/filter:- The tiny plastic nib that holds the whole thing onto the side of the tank breaks easily. One of them broke within the first few months. I now have the pump/filter held in place with a couple small pieces of duct tape that I replace every so often. Not an elegant solution, but it's easy and works well.-The pump/filter system can clog easily, even if you clean pretty regularly. If this happens, it will not be able to suck up water, but isn't necessarily broken.[Before you decide this is the problem, make sure there's enough water in the tank for the pump to work... 😉 ]You'll want to pull the long tube part off of the bottom of the pump, and then also the lid-looking part that it attaches to. It will snap back on, but try to remove it gently, as it's plastic and could break. Under there you'll see the little fan-looking mechanism that's supposed to spin to suck the water up. Clean it with q-tip and hot water (or equivalent) until it spins freely when plugged in, then snap everything back together, make sure water level is good, and you should be good to go.Hope that helps. 😀🐟🐠🐡🌱

I love this little aquarium it’s the perfect size for where ...
I love this little aquarium it’s the perfect size for where I wanted to put it the only thing I do not like is the filter is a little on the loud side other than that I’m very happy with my purchase especially for the price. I wanted to do a quick update on this fish tank. I have the 5 gallon tank. As I started to purchase plants and decorative items for the tank I was purchasing them based on the dimensions that are given on here to my surprise the tank is not as large as they say that it is and it does not hold 5 gallons of water even without rock in there. The actual dimensions of the tank portion without the lid and without vase are 10 inches high X 13 1/2 inches wide X 6.5” sides without bow, going to 10” at the very front of the bow. Another thing that I found very helpful was reading through all of the questions and comments and finding one that told me how to quiet this filter down. They do not tell you that you have to fill the water all the way to the base of the filter which completely submerses it. Even then it does still make a slight grinding noise but much better having added the extra half inch of water to it that I was lacking. I do still wish that it had been the correct size that they say which is 15 x 15 1/2 x 10 essentially I would love to have been able to put a few things or a little bit taller in the tank. Just so that you know the highest that you really should put in there is about 9 to 9 1/2 inches anything else than that will be above the water line. And one last thing for me anyways the where the water flows onto this flat filter only about half of the filter actually gets used, And my tank is level. Overall I guess they just really need a better filter. I thought this tank because I like the way that it looks, however I am wishing now that I had bought one of the panoramic, tall round, or the 6 1/2 gallon tank or even go out to a 10 gallon tank, so that I could’ve had a few more fish because I’m not one to just have a single Beita in a 5 gallon tank or in this case it’s actually about 4 gallons even without rock.

Here fishy fishy fishy...
So this is a good tank. Sturdy, I like that it is all one cast. But it is plastic, which is fine for me but it's hard to look inside sometimes. The pump is strong, however for my little beta it whips him around, if you do buy this tank I put spong filters in to decrease the flow of water. Otherwise good purchase.

Noisy at start but resolved
Great little tank, easy to clean. Initially the filter made a lot of noise as stated in some of the other reviews. Kept it running anyways as using it as a little quarantine tank for new fish and not located anywhere where the noise mattered. The filter noise resolved in a few weeks and has been fine ever since then, nice and quiet (have had it running for a few months now).

Great tank poor filter flow
We purchased this tank as a replacement for a smaller Minibow 1.0 for more space for the fish. Although this kit came with the same pump as the previous tank the output of the new tank is drastically less. Barely trickles. I attempted to contact Aqueon with no reply. This is disappointing as we would like to correct before it affects the fish.

Small tank, okay for shrimp
Great for a nano shrimp tank after adding a sponge to cover the filter intake, that’s about it, it is small and really not suitable for many fish, like one betta if you get the five gallon and shrimp or snails for any smaller ones. Definitely don’t like that they advertised it with a goldfish which couldn’t survive very long in a tank this size and definitely should not be kept in this
