they are to limit the travel of the blade..so that it doesnt pull off the Branch and fall or go to for a forward and jump off The branch.

Please describe the rigidy/whippiness of the fully assembled pole?

It will flex when you use it. Best angles are between 45 and 75 degrees. That way the weight of the pole will drive the saw. The middle of the pole will go up and down a foot or two but not too much. Lifting fully assembled pole is tricky but I never felt it might break

Can this tool remove coconuts from coconut palms efficiently?

yes, if you can position the saw blade correctly.

Why does amazon advertise this item is corded electric if in fact is not?

Not sure why it’s advertised as being corded. It most certainly is NOT. But that detail aside, this tool has exceeded my expectations when it came to cutting down some heavy branches that were a danger for my kids playing in the yard.
