This book seems to be very good and what I expected. The book was paper back and that's my fault for not watching closely enough to what I was ordering. I keep my books so I try to get hard back every time I buy a book. Other than that I have no complains .

I think almost everyone has a fascination with the Royals what made this interesting there was a lot of information about Meghan ( I am also a California girl) and I actually remember watching her on Nick News back in the day about I think the dish soap think she's always talking about and sending a letter to Hilary Clinton. I remember it being a group of kids and group effort but she was featured. Tom Bower writes well and manages to get a lot of information, without a lot drama.

I bought this book for myself & it is one of the best books I have ever read about Meghan, Prince Harry & their interactions with the British Royal Family. I read a lot of books about the British Royal Family & have read many over the years.

Tom Bower is a trusted biographer who has written about the Royal Family for years. He spares no one in his honest book showing how one woman tried to make the Royal Family into her image of what they should be. In other words she would become the center of attention.Meghan Markle, according to Bower tried to create a new version of royalty where she would be the center. She doesn’t have the personality of a servant and her crude handling of various attendents riled not only her relationships with them but also reached the Late Queen’s ear. The Queen who dedicated her life to serving the People had no tolerance for abuse of power. She met with Markle and told her in no uncertain terms that the Firm would not tolerate abuse of any of the individuals who served them. After several resignations from the Sussex’s staff the Duke and Duchess notified the World they were leaving and would no longer serve as working members of the Royal Family.I’ve been fascinated with the Royal Family since my childhood and remember the days when King George VI reigned, died and the then Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II. My Uncle served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in England at that time. He always sent me pretty hankies and soft pockets in which to store them. When Queen Elizabeth II was Coronated he sent me a Golden London newspaper with photos of it. I treasured it until it went missing never to be seen again. My Mother’s family was descended from a time when King Henry VIII was Monarch so even as a very young child I probably knew more about English History than American History. In school we always sang God Save the King/Queen as well as America the Beautiful at the start of a day.Mr. Bowers engaging tome about what went on behind the scenes prior to “Mexit” as it has become known sheds interesting details of the manipulation of a social climbing American who should be an embarrassment to Americans.

This book gave a well researched account of Meghan Markle’s behavior and personality. While she is super ambitious and extremely driven toward career and money, she is also quite the liar, a narcissist and a “jekyll and hyde” character in her relations with people. She started to pull the “race card” really a lot as she started her activist/humanitarian roles, claiming racism directed toward her. Amazingly, no one would even know she was half black if nothing was revealed about that because she doesn’t have any black features and had passed for white most of the time. Harry was her ultimate career prize as she finally gained the wealth, celebrity and status she was looking for. However, it seems Harry isn’t such a great prize after all with his own bad behavior and mental health issues. Markle’s exploits are really quite awful and at times I had to pull back from reading as it just gets to be too much sometimes. How their actions and lives play out will be something to watch in the future…Also, for the author’s use, most of the USA doesn’t give a fig at all about them being here. This is a very interesting book and will bring the reader up to date on what is going on with the RF and H&m.

I thought this book was well written and researched. Considering the Sussexes did NOT sure the author over this book, I feel the facts are true. Sure gives a good account of Meghan and her agenda prior, during and after her brief stint in the Royal family. It's too bad she is the way she is as she could have brought a lot of good to the BRF but she is a selfish narcissist who wants things all her way or bye-bye family.

This book is well written, easy to read with Tom's writing style. He's clearly not a fan of Meghan or Harry for that matter and he has good reason. They did hurt the Queen in the last couple of years of her life and Meghan in particular seems to despise Her Majesty for some reason.The book was good at putting all of it together and many things I didn't know, especially about the setting up of the 'charities' and all their 'ventures'. It's very odd that M and H don't read the room. I don't wish them any ill at all but I really wish they would stop trading on the Royal Family. The very family they don't want to be part of!Other than a few typos, Meghan's name spelt Megan once and a couple of sentences that didn't make sense, it's a great read and I couldn't put it down.

This book shows the real person behind the Hollywood smile. I wish Harry would read it.
