Fantastic translation, shame about the issues with the box
To start off with I am only a third of the way through book 1 however I am grateful to Purdue for this excellent translation. However, the outer box that holds the three books is visibly damaged, this has nothing to do with the author but I guess the method of delivery. It did come in a generously packaged box as do most items bought off here but the edges show visible damage which is a shame for the price point. Happy with my purchase but would be good if the supplier took better care with books like these.

Great book, shame about the binding.
Updating JFs standard translation, Agrippa’s infamous Occult Philosophy is now easily accessible in a clear modern edition. The improvements in translation may be of little importance to most readers, but it’s good to know some of JFs errors have been corrected. The changes offer most benefit to practicing astrologers, though what, if any errors have been introduced, I cannot comment. However what the book has lost is it’s olde worldy language, which previously masqued some of Agrippas more bizarre assertions with charm. But clarity is not a fault. The only real disappointment is the binding. Even though split into three volumes, and superficially magnificent to behold while remaining on the shelf. But they are not designed for comfortable reading, and not recommended for tube journeys.

Stunning!
This is a stunning work! Warnock's attention to detail in unpacking the translation of this classic is admirable, and will deepen the reader's appreciation of this important material, contextualized thus as a compendium of about 200 other books to which most readers will not have access. A real labour of love, which must have taken a very long time to compile. The translation is fluid, inviting, illuminating and easy to read. Also, the material is beautifully formatted, with proper Table of Contents and back-links to the many notes, making for smooth navigation of the text for study purposes. I do really look forward to the next two books being published!

Kindle Version at nearly £100?!
There was no way to ask a question on this. Why is the kindle version almost identical to the price of the hardback at nearly £100? I am so keen to read this on my kindle but not paying such a silly price for it. Please remedy this as the price should be much lower.

Outstanding Work by Eric Purdue
I own several translations of Agrippa’s 3 Books. This is by far the most readable, although reading and understanding Agrippa is a task in itself, which of course Agrippa intended. Having been written in the early 16th Century the prose reflects this and Eric Purdue has added appropriate foot notes throughout. The 3 books are beautifully bound with good quality paper. This is a must have for anyone interested in the Western Esoteric Tradition. The slip case is nice to look at and functional. Overall, I am impressed and glad I bought it. Understanding Agrippa is aided by this translation. Excellent in my opinion.
