GONSIDA Men's Steampunk Medieval Tailcoat Jacket Victorian Gothic Frock Coat

This coat is unbelievably beautiful - it looks better in person than in the picture! The waistcoat and cuffs are a heavy brocade. The coat itself is thick, luxurious- feeling velvet. The design on the shoulders is embroidered. The buttons don't feel or look cheap, and the coat is fully lined. It fits great, feels well-made, and is very heavy. Love it!

(All measurements in US system) This was a purchase with the intent to modify it slightly for use at a SantaCon event. The character was a Vampiric Santa Claus, so I purchased a red version. I am always leery of purchasing costume pieces online, so with the moderate price of ~$75 I was expecting something workable, but basic. I read other reviews and looked at the photos, so I wasn’t scared, just cognizant of the situation.Some pluses: This coat was crafted with sturdy fabric, extremely well made, it was lined, had some weight to it, and the details were just amazing. The way it looks is better in real life than the pictures. The black and gold detailing creating the faux vest, at the shoulders, and around the cuffs was sewn on cleanly and made this coat pop. There is some gold piping that adds even more depth. The material is thick and soft.Some minor things to consider: If you use the sizing chart, you may want to consider sizing up. I am thicker through the middle and got the largest size (3X). It fit well everywhere, except my middle. I added a cummerbund, so it wasn’t a big deal for me. But wanted people to be aware. I didn’t add a collared shirt under it, just a tee. As mentioned, it is thick fabric. While it won’t keep you from freezing, it would hold up well for a while in high 30’s-low 50’s. However, if you are wearing it while walking around on a warmer day, like 69+, it can be a bit warm. Take that into account. It really was like wearing a mild winter jacket all day.Aside from the sizing issue, more my fault than the crafters, I would recommend this coat to anyone looking for a fancy, steampunk, Victorian, vampire style.Pictures added for reference.All in all, a great purchase for the price and we will use it again at some point.

I’m not sure what we were expecting but as the packaging fell to the floor there was a collective Wow! Truly the coat is well made, fully lined and well proportioned. Without being too audacious the Gold finish adds glamor and pizzazz : The garment is Great Value for the $$$. I sew quite a bit and it would cost me more in materials etc to create this rather than purchase it. Overall I’m very satisfied with all aspects. Delivered on time. Well wrapped etc. Thanks a million.

Got this for my husband for Halloween and he was strutting around the house for several minutes, feeling very dignified and handsome. I was expecting cheap factory garbage, but it is really amazing quality, feels comfortable, probably nice and warm if you live in the frozen north, too! I definitely recommend it for all your cosplay/party/random purposes!

Looks as good if not better than the images.Was far higher quality than I expecte, fits great and has a nice weight to it.Thinking about getting the black version too.More than worth the money!
