Scary Scaregull U-Bolt Quality
An extremely poorly made fitment. The small fine thread on the bent 2.5mm/3mm threaded bar was not up to any heavy duty wear. The wing nuts supplied had excessive clearance on the u-bolt thread, and hence stripped easily with limited holding force when attempting to install on a 20mm stainless handrail. I ended up discarding this vastly overpriced fitment, and instead formed a u-bolt from a length of 5mm A2 threaded bar, redrilled the holes in the strongback plate supplied, inserted some motorcycle fuel hose over my new U, purchased my own lock nuts and re-installed on the boat. Now very strong for a marine environment.
