This is a perfect intro vehicle for Kids that wish to BASH. it's tough as nails, has replacement parts available cheap, and can handle 3s when their skills improve. Out of box speed is 18-22 MPH, so easy to handle yet somewhat fast. The extra bodies are a big Plus!

Picked this car due to other reviews, budget constraints, and availability of replacement parts on Amazon at reasonable cost. This is one solid little dude. It moves quick, tends to land on it's wheels, takes a beating, and is a good size for playing around kids/pets. (it would be quite painful if it hit you at fullspeed, but likely no trip to the hospital) Tight turning circle and good proportional steering response. Battery life is quite good IMO - more than enough for my average session with it. Would make a great gift for kids from 7 to 97.

My kids and I have several Hosim R/C Cars... (G171's & G174's, 9155's & 9156's, and a 9125). Overall, we've had very good luck with our Hoism Products. They are very good quality, almost hobby-grade R/C cars, especially for the price. The H16P is one of the newer cars with some cool new features. All the previous Hosim cars we have owned appeared to be manufactured in a similar way, the 9155/56 and 9125 even share some parts. This one look to be from a different manufacturing process but still looks and feels to be made to a high-quality standard. It looks to be more sealed overall for better water resistance when going though puddles or wet terrain. For a 1:16 Scale, it's pretty fast, I raced my son with his 9125 and it kept up really well. I also like that this car comes equipped standard with a cooling fan over the motor and the fan powers up as soon as you turn the car on. Another included standard feature are the Oil Filled Shocks... these help a lot with keeping the car on the ground and absorbing impact from jumps and flips.This car is very responsive to the controls (the pistol grip controller is a little larger than the controller that came with my other Hosim Cars... but still fits comfortably in your hand). I have not had any connectivity issues between the car and the controller. The controller offers a lot of fine-tuning for Trim (both the servo and the wheels), Speed, and Reverse operation modes for throttle and steering. The car is fast but will run best on pavement, concrete, or flat dirt tracks/trails. Since it’s only a 1:16 scale it does not move a nicely though grass lawns. It will drive though the grass ok... but you will lose significant speed and steering radius (mainly due to the smaller size of the car & wheels). The ships with lots of extras. I love the included Wheelie Bar, and this really helps keep the car from flipping back with high-speed acceleration. It also includes a 2nd battery, a spoiler/fin, screwdriver & wheel wrench… Plus, a storage bag for extra batteries/spare parts/tools etc... This car also has a GPS Function and an available App, and they have included a holder/strap to keep your phone on your wrist. We've just started to play with that a little bit but so far seems like a cool added feature, there is some Speed and other data available when you connect to the app. The only thing I would change; the power button for the R/C car is integrated into the top of the battery. I like being able to pick up some extra “generic” batteries and due to the integration of the power button into the battery itself, I am not sure if I will be able to do that... Overall it’s a minor thing but something I would change if I could. On a positive side for the battery, you don’t need any special chargers as it uses a standard USB C cable. I really like that they went with USB C instead of the older micro-USB connection. Have not had a chance yet to see how long the batteries will last and their durability... but so far, we've run the car 15-20 mins at a time and have not fully drained a battery yet. With all that said, Hosim has always been great with making spare parts and batteries available for most of their RC cars and I would expect they will eventually offer extra batteries and parts for this car as well. It’s still a fairly new car for Hosim so I am guessing they have not yet put any parts up on Amazon or their Direct Website. on a side note, Hosim customer service has always been very responsive and great with resolving any questions or needs I have had in the past.Pros:Motor Cooling FanOil Filled ShocksWheelie BarIts FASTGPS & AppFine Tuning Controls on the Pistol Grip ControllerUSB C Charging for the battery (& includes 2 batteries)Overall, I give this new RC Car from Hosim 5 Stars and would recommend it to anyone.
