EXCELLENT!
In this day, this book couldn’t be more spot on for what’s happening in the nation and churches!! I watch in sadness as congregations and pastors are deceived.I’m not finished with the book yet, however I recommend it for anyone that wants to read the truth of how lost our country has become because it’s turned its back on God!We NEED more to stand up and speak the truth loudly and bravely!!! Not cater to the radical left and their agendas in the name of tolerance!!

Woke Jesus review
I would recommend this book to any one in today's church because we seem to be losing gospel truth on a daily basis. This book doesn't just rail against the leftist takeover of our churches. Anyone can do that. Miles gives an in depth history of how theological leftism has its roots in the early church's most influential enemy -Gnosticism. Most importantly, he gives practical advice on how to confront this insidious cultural infection. If there is any weakness at all in the book, the practical advice could have been longer.Overall this is a true master piece on theological leftism.

Answers to the current version of communism
I loved this book. The author provides some great answers to the current liberal march toward their version of utopia. This is nothing new. I think you can go back 100 years to Marx and Lenin. Today they call it wokeness. Today to help them achieve their goals with this march they incorporate the principles of the bible. The author proves this wokeness wrapped in the bible is really old Gnostic theology. That is the idea that special knowledge separates them from us. They use their special knowledge to justify various political stands. The author proves the theology now as it was 1,000 or so years ago non-biblical. It is a ruse by the left to achieve their goals. This book will open up your mind to see this play like nothing else. Read it today before it is to late.

inspirational
This book gives us the tools to fight for the future of our nation and the world. A history of how we got to this point and a way forward. At times, tough to grasp immediately, the conclusions are perfectly clear. We must return to the ways of our forefathers and keep God as the most important part of our daily lives. Stay informed. Stay vigilant. Love it and live it.

Good News for Real Christians
This is a critical book for Christians in general, but especially for those Christians who are concerned about the direction of the modern Church. Lucas Miles provides keen insight into the issues facing the Church today. He also gives sound advice to orthodox Christians to help them address these issues. This book is a must read for those who desire to defeat the false teaching of leftist and bring their family and friends to true Biblical faith in Jesus Christ.

THE MAGA JESUS
If you hope to learn something about Jesus from Lucas Miles new book "Woke Jesus", you're going to be disappointed. Jesus is not the main figure in this book. Mostly the author spends his energy by creating and attacking caricatures of what he calls Woke Christians.I suppose by his definition I would count as a woke Christian, a Progressive Christian. I am a minister with advanced theological degrees who served churches for 40 years. But I certainly don't recognize myself in much of what he has to say to describe people like me. I certainly don't recognize my intellectual influences by the ones that he attributes to Progressive Christians. According to Miles, Hegel, Marcuse, and Marx are my intellectual forebear. Foolish me! I always thought the early Bonhoeffer, Barth, Moltmann, King, Douglas John Hall and Hauerwas and above all, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were my most important influences. I can't speak for other Progressives. Everyone is not of a single mind. But it is in keeping with standard right-wing strawman construction to accuse people who are more progressive than they are of being Marxists. It is pure fantasy to link Marx to most of the people he names as Woke Christians. Instead of offering actual evidence and arguments, he just makes assertions and accusations.Along the way, he ridiculously he lumps people like Tony Campolo, Jim Wallis, Russell Moore and Beth Moore with Angela Davis, James Cones, scholars in the Jesus Seminar and anyone else he felt was worthy of condemnation. In his better moments he admits that they are not all the same. But he quickly slides back into suggesting that down deep they really are. Miles is misleading and deceptive. In a far-fetched manner the author seeks to link what he calls woke Christians with Gnosticism. Among other things, the ancient Gnostics saw the material world as corrupt in itself. Miles seeks to equate this with the criticism that progressive Christians have for the flawed system in the United States that allows for institutionalized racism in the criminal justice system, banking, housing, etc., and gross economic inequality, among other things. Miles argues that both Gnosticism and progressive Christians are concerned about alienation-though in vastly different ways- therefore there is a causal connection. This is a ridiculous claim! What he neglects to see is that the people of his own mindset have their own ideas about alienation and the evil system. They just identify different things that they regard as evil and different solution to the problem of alienation. And, no, salvation through Jesus is not the total sum of what they believe is required to fix things, otherwise they wouldn't be up to their ears in radical rightwing politics. Forthem alienation results from secularism. And the work required to solve this problem of alienation, according to the radical far right Christians, is a recognition of the "evils" of progressives and to takeover of a political system so they can impose their values on everyone. Using the same vague, sweeping comparisons Miles make of Gnosticism and what he calls woke Christians can be just as easily be applied to far right Maga Christians.Miles continually accuses Progressive Christians of being unorthodox. And certainly that's true of some of them. It is equally true of some on the right. However, I think that in the end Miles is less concerned about Orthodoxy than he is concerned about Progressive Christians departing from the Republican Party. An example of this is when he mentions Joel Hunter who Miles claims, "abandoned his once orthodox convictions to help institute the campaign "pro-life Christian evangelicals for Biden," claiming that the Democratic party platform was more biblically balanced." (p.64). The real issue for Miles was not that Hunter abandoned Orthodoxy. In fact he didn't do so! The real issue for Miles was that Hunter abandoned the right wing political agenda. This is his problem with so many of the other figures he condemns in his book.Miles falsely claims progressive Christians don't affirm the biblical titles of Jesus. But what Miles ends up doing is neglecting the Gospel narratives about Jesus. Without the teaching and example of Jesus presented in the Gospels we no longer have the Word who became flesh but only titles emptied of faithful content. The Jesus of the Gospels is nowhere to be found in Miles' book. The Jesus who "empied himself and became a servant," as the apostle Paul said, is missing. Instead Miles appears to offer a Mega Jesus who leads his people in a quest for worldly power, something never envisioned by the Jesus of the Gospels. The nonviolent Jesus who, as he said, had nowhere to lay his head, who made the poor a priority, who included outcasts and encouraged the welcoming of strangers is not the Jesus that Miles recognizes. His appears to be a Mega Jesus, which is in fact no Jesus at all. Essentially, he offers a Jesusless "Christianity," not worthy of acceptance.

Good
This book was informative. I liked it but his book the Christian Left was by far way better. Out of 17 books I’ve read the Christina Left was my second favourite. But this book is good for information purposes. But I definitely didn’t feel the inspiration I felt when reading his other book.
