20X Achromatic Objective Lens for Biological Microscope, Brass Chrome Plated, 0.40 Numerical Aperture, 160mm Tube Length, RMS Thread

For context, I am an amateur when it comes to microscopy. My use and interest is purely from a hobbiest point of view. As many do, I removed my oil objective and opted for this 20X. It mounted up easily provides a good crisp image. It only requires a slight fine adjustment when switching from my 10X or to my 40X, making it as if it was OEM. It would have been nice to have a matching color but given the price and functionality, the different color is purely cosmetic. I'd definitely buy this objective again.

The 20X achromatic objective lens (195mm optical bench length) was ordered on 5/6/2023 and received on 5/10/2023 (VERY prompt service). It has excellent optical quality for an intermediate magnification objective (to go with 4X and a 60X achromatic 195mm optical bench length objective lenses and provides near parfocal performance for a refurbished student microscope).

This lens proved to be a good match for my Amscope 120 and Swift 350 microscopes, giving images at least as good as the supplied 10x objectives. The field-of-view of 0.9 mm through the 10x 18 mm eyepiece was not flat at the edges, but the central area captured by a lens-less USB camera (0.18 mm) was good. Works fine with plankton samples as shown by the image of Ceratium.

The piece wasn’t screwed in properly to the top when shipped meaning it was bouncing around while shipped. I’m unsure if the glass was scratched…

It took over a month to arrive from China. Not sure what kind of scam is going on here, but this definitely was not a 20x magnification lens as described. They aren't round. It clearly doesn't fit on a standard 20.2mm microscope lens threading. I couldn't attach these little candy tins to my microscope. Can't even see through it. Disappointment doesn't even begin to address my experience with this product. Definitely not worth $20. I would not recommend purchasing this and would caution other potential buyers about this seller's products. I tried to return it, but I got grief for that too.

Aside from a slightly different appearance, this 20X objective fits in well with those that came with my Swift compound microscope. It works well, is very clear, and the price was fantastic. Five Stars.

Good objective lens.

Ordered this objective for my Swift SW380T microscope. Very clear objective. I am satisfied with this purchase and recommend it.

Item arrived promptly. The objective itself was contained in a hard plastic container and shipped in a plastic bag. I removed the 100x oil objective( used once to test it...essentially useless) The new configuration on my Swift 380T is 4x 10x 20x and 40x. The new 20x, though not quite parfocal with the existing objectives, is close enough not be an annoyance. The 20x itself is quite good. Colour correction is fine and view is not too mushy near the edge of the field. In summary I am pleased overall with the lens and would recommend as an inexpensive option.
