I have little ones and pumkin carving always stresses me out with them. I usually just have them paint the pumpkins. Now with these I dont have to worry! The edges aren't too sharp and they are like cookie cutters. We practiced on a small pumpkin just to make sure they work before our pumpkin carving party. They worked so well! The kids just needed help holding them in place while they used a little rubber mallet to tap them in. These are a genius idea and now everyone can participate! I hope they expand and come out with more shapes and designes!

I have another "professional" kit but didn't have it with me. I'm travelling so to keep up with my tradition of carving pumpkins every year for my family, I decided to get this. It was a bit cheaper than the other kit I have but with more tools. I thought, "Hey, instead of buying another cheap set that will likely break, this will do." I can confirm that it is sturdy and nice quality. But I would not recommend if you're a professional carver. The thickness of the blades are way too thick. This is best for simple designs like the generic eyes and mouth. I would recommend this for kids since it is stable and strong. However, if you intend on doing more intricate work, the cheapy grocery store packets will allow you more creativity.

These were a great alternative to trying to cut shapes myself. The pumpkins came out awesome. Only issue is a few got stuck in the pumpkin and had to really push hard to get them out.

The page with some ideas for carving is a great addition and there are absolutely loads of shapes to use. A great set that will be used for many years to come.
